Nothing left to do but take responsibility and take care of it. Her youth and carefree life was over because of it she learned the hard way that’s it. Y’all are all failing to understand that Jamie Lynn Spears also experienced her own trauma along the way. Someone experiencing trauma doesn’t always have the mental energy or capacity to be able to understand or help someone else. Just because she wasn’t put in a conservatorship doesn’t mean she wasn’t constrained by being brainwashed from her father or anyone else. Also, she could’ve possibly been brainwashed to think the conservatorship was best for Britney. Just like Britney was eventually brainwashed to think that was best for her as well. There was probably a cluster fuck of confusion in the mist of it all. On top of all that the age difference says a lot. When Britney was put in a conservatorship Jaime wasn’t even 18! Not to mention she was going through her own issues and public scrutiny at the time. How would anyone expect a teen to understand what’s going on with their older sibling while dealing with a lot themselves. With a 10 year difference, it’s a weird and confusing position to be put in as a younger sibling to have to defend the older when it had always been the other way around. These are just my two cents, I don’t think there’s ever been mal intent from JL. It’s just confusing family trauma on both ends that hopefully heals between them at some point. At the end of the day neither of them should give a fuck about what any of us have to say and I hope they continue giving no fucks about our opinions. May they eventually hash it out on their own.

'I agree. Being closely involved with someone with a mental illness is not easy. It can be a routine of being abused and worrying all the time. People also present very differently to the public than they do behind closed doors to people who love them unconditionally. Being the other child in that kind of family is also very demoralising. The parents are so busy trying to keep the head of the ill child above water and are always running on low battey, that they can neglect the other kids, who have to really fight for their rights.

She sat quietly and remotely through the whole 10+ years of the conservatorship so why can she not sit quietly away from the public eye while this storm passes. While this isn’t her fault at all, she wasn’t there for her then so let’s not pretend she was. It’s not her teen pregnancy that people are bashing her on. It’s her recent behavior towards her own sister and her bullying a little girl on set during her time on Nickelodeon. I was in high school when news got out about her pregnancy. And most of us, myself included at that age, shamed her by calling her a slut and whatnot. But being an adult and learning about the behavior that adult producers exhibit behind the scenes and how guys can easily take advantage of child stars, I started seeing things in a different perspective. What I don’t approve of, is her taking advantage of Britney and blaming her for all her problems, and or course, bullying that girl on Zoey 101.

How much attention and stress would be put on keeping Britney afloat while the other kids must do their best to be a rock to their parents and sister and work things out for themselves. And if her needs conflict with Britney's or their parents' then the other children will always come last, because it is all about supporting the ill child and the parents. Part of her pregnancy probably comes from parents not giving the attention and support needed (plus she comes from the rural bible belt, where sex ed is non existent).

I’m not buying it. Timing is way too curious. My theory is she may be trying to get a reaction from Britney and when Britney goes off JL can just say calmly “see what I mean?”. No she wasn’t able to do anything at the beginning when it all started but what about afterwards. 13 years!

I watch this even though this has been years in the making for Jamie Lynn Spears, I used to watch her on All That then Zoey 101, and her being the kid sister to Brittany Spears she had a huge light shined upon her and her life and the only thing different with her and a "normal" person is she has the light on her and everybody gets to see and judge her short comings, as a normal person to go through the same traumas are the same traumas just different degrees, hers everybody sees, people who aren't famous aren't put under a microscope and every part of their life picked apart and judged on choices they make, she is human and she makes mistakes too. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, Jamie Lynn Spears has come out the other end smelling like a rose and she still pushes forward to make sure her girls have a good life

I knew that Jamie Lynn Spear's book would be about Britney. Jamie was going to name her book off of Britney's lyric in one of her songs & had to change it because Britney was out of the conservatorship strangle hold. A charity said no thank you to Jamie Lynn who changed the title of her book & she didn't ask Britney's permission & she knew that Britney would say no and the charity didn't want to get entangled in a dispute of Britney & Jamie Lynn & all were getting money anytime they wanted from her conservatorship. Also, the book would be about Britney too & there was no permission from Britney. Jamie Lynn is still making money off her sister by calling Britney crazy. Jamie Lynn doesn't realize that for 13 years, her sister was in a prison that her dad had put Britney in & if Britney was different, it was because she was locked up in her own home that had no doors on the inside of her bedroom & bathroom, so everyone can see her clothed or naked. Not once did Jamie Lynn try to help her sister but was just as guilty of putting Britney in prison & striping everything from her. If Britney has a drug problem, her dad introduced her to it & is responsible for her dependance on drugs prescribed or non-prescription because during those 13 years, Jamie was responsible for Britney's demise & at some point, Jamie introduced Britney to drugs. Jamie Lynn used Britney as much as she could - she said the condo in Florida was hers, she got the dune buggys from Britney's conservatorship, the book is also about Britney. I wouldn't put it past Jamie Lynn to have gotten much more out of Britney's money. If Jamie-dad, Lynn-mother & Brian-brother, who all benefited from Britney's conservatorship, why was Jamie Lynn not benefitting from Britney as her whole family considered Britney a business like her brother said? This proves that Jamie Lynn is lying.

having been the sibling of a kid with a mental illness, it brings a huge amount of mental health issues for the sibling. Ones that you often have to sort out on your own because you're the "stable" and "competent" one so no one wants to comprehend that you might be struggling too. You can feel like no one is listening to you. I'm just not sure a book was the best way to express her anger in her attempt to be heard.

@@Youokhun that's a distorted understanding of how conservatorships actually work. And also how family dynamics work- children generally don't get a say in how other kids are raised, even when they are adults, as their parents still see them as children. All conservatees get paid a salary to manage the estate- because it is a full time job. We don't know what happens behind closed doors but her claims about things like violence or just having to give in to her older sister so as not to upset her is not fun. Plus being a teen mom and nearly shipped off in her hour of need because her sister was causing trouble must have hurt. Famous or no, britney is also not a reliable witness so take everything she says with a big pinch of salt
