OMG love Israel. The FOOD. The street vendors. The salads. The outdoor cafes. The schwarma stands. Warm evenings in a garden, dinners over hours with friends. One of my best memories in life.

We all know Kanafeh was her favorite. I understand cultural pride and bias, but seriously, let's be frank. Kanafeh is on another level. 💯❤️

That Rugelach was atypical, and a "rubbery" Kanafe is atypical, too. Given my choice between the two when they're made in the usual way, I'll always choose Kanafe.

Thank you for putting out his fantastic video. Brought back so many "sweet" memories . (Plus I don't think I have ever seen marizipan so empty ) Hopefully I will be able to return soon and this time with a one way ticket ) As for as preference I have never had kanafeh which looks very appealing. Meanwhile I'm rugelach person all the way (particularly with a cup of coffee)

Try the meat Knafe just across from Hatch (great beer btw), now that's different. I think the Mazipan rugelach are a bit too doughy and find other bakeries better, but people seem to love the doughy sugary stuff - to each their own

Rugelach from Marzipan wins hands down! It's hard to believe that anything that delicious is pareve. The owner, Yitzchak, is such a mench. Did you see Michael's z"l picture there? They were good friends.

but Ashkenazi is a descendant from Japheth which is a Gentile by blood line. That's even in the Torah Genesis. Not being mean just curious of why Ashkenazis claim Israeli line when it's not Bible correct.

This won't go over well with a lot of people: But I am frankly sick of the mizrachi food in Israel, It is not really Israeli, it is simply arab food that the mizraachi people make a big fuss about. I have to admit that I prefer spicy real fish to gefilte, but other than that...kanadelach, kreplach, chicken soup, etc are much more appetizing than all the Arab dishes that we have in Israel. Shwarma may be nice the first 15 times but give me a good pastrami on rye anytime.
