That's the new reality, thanks to drug addicts and abusers, normal people have to suffer through all manner of postoperative pain with nothing more than an over the counter pain reliever. It is well documented that pain inhibits healing, but nevermind about that. Just doctors having to cover their butts from lawyers blaming them for someone's eventual drug abuse because they received a dozen Vicodins for postip pain relief. Those people would be drug abusers with or without those dozen Vicodin.

"If I let the scary take over, I'm never gonna get this done". I feel that about top surgery atm. Maybe that's a big reason I haven't been as persistent. I am scared of surgery in general. I've put it off through learning about my autism and other things. But I also am reaching a point of being very tired of being labeled female by family and friends. Despite mostly not letting it bother me, I want to move forward and be seen as myself. Also roommate situations are uncertain on safety while I go through the healing process. So that worries me. respect for all trans people, you mean. it's painful regardless of hormones or ANY surgery, it's painful even for transfolk who can't do either for medical or financial reasons. Probably more painful, because drugs are less effective for emotional pain than physical pain. I had top surgery and it didn't hurt that much because I was so happy not to have boobs anymore and because I have a high pain tolerance. I can't always afford my testosterone injections, but I both love and hate them. It's really hard to stick even an inch long needle in myself, and it used to be a much bigger needle. I almost passed out the first few times I did it myself lol. I'll never get any bottom surgery because I can't afford it. @877swissmiss Жыл бұрын
@@charadreemurr874 I don‘t think nature formed his opinion/view on this matter. But it‘s the nature of humans to have an own view on sth. Is that a mistake? It doesn‘t make someone a bad person to have a different view than the majority of people. He can still treat people well and respect them. Disagreement is not hate or disrespect. An opinion can be articulated in a disrespectful way though. And there are views which are considered inhumane or disrespectful from many people. Some see it as hate when someone thinks being trans is a mentally caused, based thing. I don‘t think of it as hate when the suffering is still perceived as such. It‘s a valid opinion to question invasive risky surgeries, to question the physical treatment of a mentally caused condition. You wouldn‘t tell any selfharming person to go on doing it just bc it helps reducing inner pain or dissociation, right? And that‘s how some people see the „trans surgeries“. Assisted self harm. Are they haters bc of that? Maybe some are, but not bc of the opinion. Some real haters may use this view to act hateful but not everyone with this opinion is a hater. I think there are many young people who think they are trans just bc that is what they find most talked about in relation to dysphoria and dysmorphia and it can lead many of them to a dangerous path. That‘s a bit off topic but I still think it‘s an important point to think about, even for med. profs, therapists lately. Without invalidating anyone‘s feelings or identity it would be important to have more differentiated discussions on the broad matter. Too much is thrown into a single pot imo. There will be a group of very regretting people in the coming years if we don‘t have a discussion about that.

I'm a year post-op and still occasionally have pain in the area. I'm still glad I had surgery but I don't think I'd go to the same surgeon. She was born this way her whole life. Their gender dysphoria is cured by this, that’s what the benefits are. If you don’t understand what it feels to not feel comfortable in your physical body, then you have no place to say what their motives are. Stop judging her and mind your own business

Whew doggy! I'm watching this 12/2021, and I'm amazed at your bravery. I've had 7 surgeries in my life, and none compare to what you've been through. When Shaaba held out her hands to show the amount of the drain that was inside your body, it reminded me of how I felt after I'd had my panniculectomy done. I had 2 JP drains afterwards since I was cut hip to hip. The first drain came out without issues. The 2nd one was in for 4 weeks, and I was dumbfounded how long it was when it finally came out. Anyway, many congrats for taking the steps necessary to feel comfortable in your own skin. I think momentary buyer's remorse after surgery is normal, but I'm glad that you realized it was a passing worry and not permanent regret. Much love from Bristol, Connecticut, USA!

you are obviously a person who has not gone through this type of thing. You have no idea what it is like living a life in a body that does not feel like your own . You should not judge or assume. Be peaceful and tolerant. Have some empathy and move on. You will feel better and so will everyone else. There are more important things in the world to comment about and to get angry about. Focus on bigger things. World hunger and other social injustices. This man's road is not yours to travel. Take up arms against a real opponent.
