This, to me, was kind of what it sounded like at the end of the 80's. A REALLY nice send-off to a GREAT decade of music!

Man this was a big hit back in 1989-90! Makes me so happy to see new generation of young people listening to such great classics!👌😎👍👉♥️

Great song by Jane Child, with that 90's edge and dance beat

80s mate. Track came out Jan 90, but really the sound was very reminiscent of the 1987-8 period of yamaha synths, clean crisp dance/RnB. Sadly that whole style of music was starting to go out of fashion as she was entering the fray. I remember the mid to late 80s well, the best hard rock/metal and RnB in my opinion.

That era of music (late 80's/early 90's) was great for upbeat party/dance music. The great Teddy Riley did some remixes of this tune that I had on blast back in the day. Classic.

Love hurts when its gone, thats what most couples are afraid of.. love makes you feel good, it also brings back the memories... Nightclubs went of the hook when this song hit the speakers... those were the good and happy days of music.

Technically this single came out Jan 1990 but that meant she recorded it mid 1989 and its very reminiscent of that late 80s synthy rnb period, loved that late 80s era.

Her other sing that got almost as big was Welcome to the Real World; it's darker than this one but still really good. Side note: she played ALL the instruments in this album herself. Not bad for a white girl from Canada to with weird hair :) Another song you might like us Hey Mr. Jones, but it us REALLY DARK.

She was a one hit wonder. I remember Rick Dees talking about this song when he had his radio show back in the early 90's. He said this song had a chromatic scale which is a musical scale with twelve pitches, each a semitone, also known as a half-step, above or below its adjacent pitches. Very catchy song that I remember.

🤭☝️😏 the song is about this woman don't want to take the chance to fall in love with this person who she's attracted to but she's scared that he will hurt her even though she can't stop thinking about him she don't want to risk putting her trust in this person that she's not sure will not hurt her! She wants to trust him but she feel that she must fight the attraction she has for him no matter what but she can't stop thinking about him she only wants to be with him but she just not sure if she can trust him! Because Love hurts so much when the one you love betray your trust it cuts like a knife! By the way this song has a pumped up beat similar to Swing Out sister that you maybe a month before did a react to!🙂
