Listening to this song makes me think of when I was 19 years old. Howard Stern would end its broadcast on KUFO and this song would play and there I am, lying in my bed in my room in my parents house, staring at the ceiling contemplating my existence like some dystopian nightmare...21 years later I wonder where the hell the time went....

From what i could gather.. all the alt and grunge dudes had some sort encounter with JA, and they all knew that that was the music of the next decade. and it was thanks to Jane's Addiction that that new sound was gonna stop the momentum the hair metal bands had in the 80's.

I was in the middle of five years of living in Hawaii and surfing the North Shore when this came out. I remember thinking, "These guys rock hard but he's a very average surfer." Then I saw them at Lalapollusa in Orlando in the summer of 1991 and they really ROCKED !

I wish all you youngsters could experience a 90's concert.. Nobody standing around worrying about recording the performance on their smartphones.. No, we were in the mosh pit and crowd surfing especially with a band like Jane's Addiction . Good times !! I miss the 90's and the awesome music of that time.. What happened?

Everything the musicians were trying to warn us against in the music industry happened, and then some. When the artists realized they were getting f'ed over, they wrote songs about it, then it happened to us all. Decades later, music is hardly what it once was, although some of the larger or independent artists never accepted the compromise or payout. Year by year, it continues to get worse, and we have to look that much harder for good content at a fair price. The industry greed heads and companies moved in, and wanted more and more of that sweet pie.
