I don't know who wrote the text you read in the video, but it was a text full of mistakes. The population of Turkey consists of 75%-80% of Turkish origin. 15%-20% Kurds and others. Politicians' wrong foreign policies and disregard for border security led to refugee crisis. The current government distorts many numbers and misrepresents the number of refugees in Turkey. According to unofficial sources, the number of refugees in Turkey is more than 10 million. Islamist and separatist groups in Turkey want refugees to stay in Turkey to serve their own purposes. There are too many jihadists among the refugees. This situation pleases the Islamists. Also fact that Turks have become a minority in the eastern provinces with the incoming refugees pleases the Separatists. As for the culture issue, Turkey is a country located in the middle. There is the Caucasus in the northeast, Thrace in the northwest, the Middle East in the southeast, and the Mediterranean in the west and south. Different geographies, different climates; It means different clothes, different food, different houses, different lifestyles and different cultures. Even though there are differences, actually the cultures are similar and the language is the same

07:20 This guys comment about Turkey's ethnic situation completely false. Turkey's population is %75+ ethnic Turkic. Its proven with DNA surveys. Turkicness has no certain facial shapes bcuz of its complexity. Its hard to understand Turkey's, Turkic People culture and its inner relations between them because we have our own unique things. Turkic people consists of 5 massive clans; Oghuzs, Kipchaks, Karluks, Siberians, Ogurs. Oghuzs, Karluks and Ogur ones are not slanted eyed like Kipchaks or Siberians. Already we have our own slanted eye shape not like Koreans or Japanese people. To better understand you have to read a lot of Turkology articles. Even uneducated Turkish people thinks that they are not coming from Turkic ethnic identity because they dont have slanted eyes. But Turkic Oghuz people has never been slanted eyed in the history scene. Thats so called "There is less Turkic etnicite in Turkey" illusion is a propaganda of Greek, Armenian and Kurdish nationalists. Phenotype is not %100 proof of an ethnic identity and the numbers that this wrote is completely exaggarated. Nowadays, Turkish people has a inferiority complex and generally they are uneducated ones or under influence of the black propaganda about us.

Ataturk's favorite book is "Beyaz Zambaklar Ülkesinde" i don't know you are calling what but that book about Finnish enlightment movements i guess. Written by Grigory Petrov. Ataturk ordered for study in militarial schools. I think you deserve to know this :) I don't read but i know what Ataturk desires hahaha :) He is so important person of all Turks. He fought against best modern armies and win. How could that possible... oh i watch the end of video, you told about something. Your reactions are not lame bro. Sometimes when i think about past of my land and my nation, you know nobody can't understand how we feel, i see that. Your neighboors and your nation can understand each other cause you have too much similliarities. Our neighboors easily focus on differences cause we have too much differences. And we created big empire, just Turks sended for battles. Yeah we have devshirme system and we got too much christ boy in army and converted muslim, yeah this is looking hearthless. But as i said, just Turks did military service and Turks are getting less population, we created that empire and it ate out meat and blood. Now, my nation tired but hopeful. Some people wanna make greater things but some people think it is enough. Some people looks inside, some people look outside in the country. Ataturk, that great hero, gave us chance for some rest. I have to say that for you, as a outlander, all that Turks is living in Turkey, always looking for friendship comes inside. Check the all comments, this people are supporting you for meet to us. * In 1923, the Hatay province where is on very southern part of Turkey, was another republic called Hatay Republic. Hatay was annexed with Turkey in 1939 after a referendum. So the map of 1923 was wrong there. * According a very old hypothesis, Uralic and Altaic (Turkic, Korean, Japanese, Mongolian, Hungarian, Finnic, Estonian, Tungustic, Mari, Karelian etc.) languages are coming from one single proto language. Recently, it is not getting serious by scholars. But there are really a lot of similarities with Finnish language and Turkish. Võro dialect of Estonian has the vowel harmony too just like in Turkish and Hungarian. And there are some interconnection between Turkic and Finnic peoples. For instance, Chuvash people in Chuvash Republic of Russia, were probably some Finnic peoples who speak now a Turkic language. * Unfortunately, by the constant Balkan defeats against Russia and Balkan countries, Ottomans were in paranoia and the nationalism was also raised in Ottomans which was a horrible idea for a multi-ethnic political order. So, firstly Islamization and Turkification of today's Turkey was in their agent. Almost all the Christian community (Armenians, Greeks, Syriacs, Levantens, Turkish speaking Karamans etc) were exiled, assimilated or mass murdered. Especially after the republic, assimilation policy against Muslim communities such as Kurds, Zazas, Circassians, Albanians, Georgians, Laz, Bosnians, Pomaks were a case. So today, only around 50 000 to 100 000 Laz speaking people remained in Turkey. * This didn't work against Kurds. That even made east of Turkey more Kurdish. * So we lost our colorful multicultural background. But still, almost anyone in Turkey are mixture of local people of Anatolia.

I would like to Finland for its modest support as well. So far, 42000 fatal causalities reported yet in Turkey and Syria, but I fear that it will be over 100,000 people. Each of those people had dreams about future, had a life story, had beloved ones, had disappointments, had a life to live just like each of us. I am far from my country, and it made me double worse to not able to do anything and even made me suffered to live in a warm collapsed home with electricity, clean water or even a loo! Those are more luxury thing the we think. To have people who are lost in your family and trying to survive in -10C should be horrible. I want to make some explanations. Yes turkey has a multiethnic structure but it is not a case like you consider. People from different ethnicities who live in turkey don't live at different realms. Ethnicities are very uncertain. You cant distinguish them from each other. You cant predict about the ethnicity of a person who you became acquainted with recently. And there is no a hostility between different etnic groups. They marry each other. They live in the same neighberhood. They give the same names to their children. For example cuisin is not differ between etnic groups, but region to region. And i never heard a new like that "his job application rejected because of his etnicity" or "she couldnt agree with householder because of her kurdish identity". Anyone concerns that matter. Turkey's problem is not ethnicity. So, who will break out a war because etnicities? Do you really suppose that all civil wars emerge from ethnic problems? This is a chilish claim. And who says that only 30-40 million etnic turks live in turkey? Firstly what is criterion of ethnicity? In turkey %80 of the public describes itself as turk. And %90 of the people speak turkish in their daily life. So we can say that, in the past structure of Turkey was multiehnic, but not now. But for my opinion that is a unpleasant situation. That means loss of the colours and becoming more boring.

The message you were reading at 08:00 was quite wrong actually. The numbers of turks kurds etc. It looked like a person who has Turkophobic biasses wrote these. By the way nobody thinks finns are turks, it just might be that we might have a some kind of common ancestry at some point in the ancient history. And this is not the turks who claim this, a Swede historian if I am not mistaken.

But it is not the history of Turks. Its the history of anatolia. It would be more fun for you to check history of Turks starting from Siberia. Then you might understand why we call Finns and Hungarians as our blood brothers ;)

7:17 Ethnic groups and numbers are wrong. First of all, there is no way of knowing, in Turkey people are not asked about their ethnicity. Being Turk and being Turkic are different according to the constitution. Not only according to the constitution, but also scientifically; the arrival of tribes from Central Asia, which are considered Turkic, to Anatolia started hundreds of years before Malazgirt. The number of these Turkic tribes coming to Anatolia is estimated to be around 1 million. At the time when these 1 million people came to Anatolia, the population of Anatolia was 11 million. We "Turks" are the genetic heirs of these 12 million people. According to the constitution of the Republic of Turkey, everyone who is a citizen of the Republic of Turkey is a Turk. It is possible to see from the elections how wrong the number given by your friend is. The HDP, which presents itself as a Kurdish nationalist party, received approximately 5.8 million votes in the last elections. The turnout rate in the last general elections in Turkey was 85%, meaning that out of 59 million voters, about 49 million voted. The current population in Turkey is approximately 85 million. And not all people who voted for the HDP are Kurds, for example many of my friends voted for the HDP. Because there is a threshold system in Turkey, and if the HDP does not pass the threshold, its votes are distributed to other parties. In short, the number of 20-30 million ethnic Kurds mentioned by your friend is impossible. First of all, Kurds are an ethnic group of Iranian origin, and they came to Anatolia centuries after the tribes of the Middle East, the last major Kurdish migration was during the Saddam era, it is estimated that about 400,000 Kurds fled from Saddam and took refuge in Turkey. This is like going to your neighbor's house as a guest and adding yourself as a resident, it is absurd, ungrateful and ridiculous!

20-30 Million Kurd is wrong it's absurt. Multiple research done about this ; until 1980's Turkey were using ethnicity background on population census so we know there was less than 1million kurdish speakers (including nonkurds) then we add fertility rate until gulf war where we get number of kurdish refugees also taken in to Turkey then we add their fertility rate also and see it's between 6 to 9% of population if we include non kurd kurdish speakers so 20 to 30 million number is bonkers.

7:03 the post you read here is written by an extremely ignorant person, I nearly fell off my chair. No, the north isn’t “Laz people” the ethnic Laz are actually a very small minority and they’re just in some districts of the Trabzon and Rize Provinces. Most northern Turks are extremely annoyed by being called Laz just for being from the north, because this region is literally 98% Turkish. “East are kurds” is also an extremely stupid remark. Even if kurds have much bigger numbers than Laz, the southeast and eastern 2 regions of Turkey are still majority Turkish, maybe 60%. The only populous province with a clear kurdish majority is Diyarbakir, which has 1.7M people. I am southeastern Turkish myself. Anyone who identifies as Turkish is a Turk, and that’s 68M of the 85M in the country. And no we’re just as likely to have a civil war as the Americans are due to the “republican vs democrat” political split. Don’t pay much attention to people like this who just spread ungrounded generalizations by ignoring facts and statistics.

Hi, thanks for the comment. My biggest struggle making videos is that I think I’m boring. I don’t have strong or unpopular opinions which would make videos assumable entertaining. Earthquake was horrible and I can’t even believe how it was for the people who experienced it. Being trapped under rubble without water in darkness is a nightmare.
