It's a defensive carrier. That's what they should just went with. You still need to project some air power at Sea in the defense of your homeland. @zeedub85602 ай бұрын
Battleships, like Kaga was before being converted, were named for old provinces. In the JDF, this is now applied to their helicopter ships. Others are Ise and Hyuga, which were also battleship names (that were converted to half-carriers). Battlecruisers were named for mountains, so they probably wouldn't have named one of these "destroyers" Akagi even if that weren't already the name of a cute little patrol boat. Soryu and Hiryu are attack subs, along with other 'ryu boats. Those are types of dragons. We'll know they've thrown their constitutional restrictions aside if they start building more of these totally-not-carriers and start naming them for cranes. Nobody is going to buy ships named Shokaku and Zuikaku are for defense only. 😉

Just so you know. The United States and Japan are not Democracies, they are Constitutional Republics. Democracies require a king or dictator, as that form of government was designed to legitimize his position as arbiter of the people. There is a massive difference.
