I'm not gonna lie, that irritated me. They're pretty much telling you to have no self worth. Don't give to other people, they don't need it. Don't love yourself, because there's always someone better than you. Be ashamed of your image, because you're lazy. There's no point in being a good person, because your boss only sees you for your work, and doesn't appreciate you as a person. Don't set up goals, don't have dreams. (reasons unclear) And lastly, once you get a certain age, it's time to give up your confidence completely because you're wrinkly and not worthy of love. It's totally toxic advice. It's kinda telling you to have a negative outlook on life. Lets hope that someone with depression or anxiety doesn't come across it. You are a great person, no matter your age, or your body type. Don't compare yourself to others, love yourself and love your life! EDIT: I just watched this video again cuz, I actually don't know why. I just wanted to. And WOW. Why. Bright Side. Why. You are making life seem so negative. Any kids that may have read that probably DREAD adulthood now. I don't know if that was your intention but GEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZ

A counter to "there is someone out there who is better than you" is a Hemingway quote I keep in mind when I start feeling insecure about my art, or come down with a bad case of the "betterthans." "There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man. True nobility is being superior to your former self."
@annikan424 жыл бұрын
Oh I love this. Thank you for sharing!
@paranoiarpincess4 жыл бұрын
@@annikan42 I am so glad. This quote literally changed my life. I used to be so self conscious about my art and I never thought my writing was good enough to ever go anywhere with it. Then I heard the quote, and gained the confidence to just write. At the time, it was NaNoWriMo, a writing event where the community gets together in November to write an entire novel over the month of November, every year. By the end of November, I had hit the event's word goal, and had three days left over, so I got in a huge chunk more. I did complete my first ever novel that year. I kept writing too, and the next year, not only did I go on to write a good 12+ short stories, but I went on to get EIGHT OF THEM PUBLISHED! I now have a shelf in my bookcase dedicated to short story anthologies I am actually in! And they're not self published either. I kept pushing myself to be better than no one but yesterday's me, and I succeeded! I even have some reviews of a few of the books, picking my story out specifically, to highlight as one of the reader's favourites! And I don't mean that as I'm happy I am coming out on top, I mean that as I was able to rise above my weaknesses and made work that actually stood out. I'm sorry I'm babbling your ear off, but I tell a lot of people this quote, really hoping it will inspire them as much as it had me, and you're one of the first people to react in a way I feel aligns with how I felt, more than anyone to date. Thank you for that, it really makes me feel as though I've made some kind of difference ♡. I hope you use this quote to go on and do something amazing, something you didn't have the faith in yourself to do before! Fly friend! Use every plateau you hit as a launching point instead of a limitation!

it sounds weird bc it's a direct translation from Russian. We have different aphorisms and stereotypes, but the translator just made it in English and changed 'learn english' to 'learn spanish' so it doesn't look broken. But still it sounds super weird in English. Actually, I can agree with a lot of stuff there, but I'll need to explain each point from my point of view😄 www.adme.ru/svoboda-psihologiya/12-zhestokih-istin-kotorye-otricaet-pochti-kazhdyj-iz-nas-poka-zhizn-glaza-ne-otkroet-2010915/ You can see why it's russian by looking at 13:07. It's a Russian actor Alexander Petrov. Also, the illustrations are made by Anastasiya Pavlova as seen at the bottom. And the aphorisms aspect too. A weird sentence about working as a horse is actually an aphorism for workaholics.

Ikr? It's complete pessimistic clickbait trash. I've always thought that body positivity wasn't about saying that every body type is healthy, but saying that all humans deserve to be treated with respect and not shamed regardless of what body type they have. Being severely overweight or underweight is objectively not healthy, but that shouldn't diminish your value as a person or your ability to be loved. And you can't really tell someone's health status or if they're trying to be healthier just by looking at them anyway (and being visibly very skinny isn't objectively healthy either! As a clinically underweight person, it freaks me out a bit that society seems to have this awfully harmful image of a tiny perfect body), if you're not their doctor, so that's not an excuse to fatshame.

Don’t try to do good deeds for other people because they’ll find you annoying and don’t need you anyway. Don’t try to get a job because there’s always someone “better than you” who will be chosen instead. And don’t you *dare* try and be confident in yourself, you’re just masquerading how ugly and lazy you really are.
