If memory serves me right Avi won the first ever award for human bass guitar, and is a classically trained opera singer. During the competition show "The Sing Off" Avi and Kevin got to be know as "Meat and Potatoes"because of the way they held down rhythm section in Pentatonix.

Avi did all the vocal tracks, including the killer bass undertones. There are instruments, mainly percussion, playing. Live version includes keyboard, drums, bass and electric guitars. Check out Full Moon to hear more of his higher range. He has an acoustic version - with him playing the guitar while singing.

I may be wrong, but in more than one comment from Avi, there is an organ and a drum accompanying him. It’s very subtle though. Most of it is just Avi.
@janetranslates4 жыл бұрын
@@jeancaldwell5391 You're not wrong. I think there's more percussion than just a drum, but he tweeted right after the premiere that he uses some percussion and "a little bit of organ," but that all the vocals are him. I'll add another Avi request, but it's not one that is mentioned here. The first solo single he released (well, Avriel and the Sequoias, which was his first solo project) was entitled "Fields and Pier". It is *not* a cappella (he plays his guitar throughout, there are strings, and Kevin's custom-tuned cello is heard as well), but it is a wonderful song. The scenery is lovely too--Avi searched for locations to film the video, and while much of it was filmed in Central California (where he grew up), the pier is in Oregon. It is very different from anything he ever did with Pentatonix, and is quite different from "Change on the Rise" as well (although, to be fair, *everything* he has done is different from "Change on the Rise").

Yes, lots of people think his work should be used as soundtracks. I think so too.

Avi is AMAZING each of his songs can be very different but they all have great messages. Not accapell in this some instrumentation, but ALL vocals are Avi. Avi plays guitar for most of his songs. So much more from him waiting for you to discover!

Yess , my favorite , you make my day :) :) !! I love his music (and him as a person as well ) , it's so different then with PTX ( which I love as well ), but his own music is more folk/bleugrass. I love the tone of his voice, it's like dark chocolate :), so warm and rich !! He's a great vocalist , but does a lot of whistling in his songs and he can do overtone singing , you should check that out, it's awesome !! All the vocals you hear are his , there's only some organ in it and a tambourine I think. Other great songs are "Full Moon" , " I'll get by" , "Born in California" . Well , actually every song of him is great ( sorry, I will stop fangirling now , LOL )

Full Moon has been my anthem lately. Well, more like the song that eases my stress and calms my soul.

@@jelinenanashi9466 I saw him singing this song with a choir a year ago on KZbin and fell in love with the song right away. It made me so happy that it's on his new EP :) !

The acoustic version that he did on the you tube livestream with his band is my absolute favorite version of Full Moon. His voice was stellar in that one.

Avi is doing all of the bass and vocals, the only instruments here are the percussion and the organ, but the rest is Avi’s voice. He goes really low here, C1 in growl and G#1 and probably one chest G1.

Avi can actually sing with overtones which is insane. Sounds like multiple voices by changing the space in his mouth. Look up Avi singing overtones here on KZbin. You’ll freak. But on this song he did record his low notes as the harmonies on it.

How did I miss commenting on this 'reaction' Jase it's obvious you 'get' Avi. This was written to tell us he's changed his direction and getting back to his roots. Such a powerful song. This is all Avi except for and organ he used and the clapping .....It's all him....Pay attention to when he sings the words...'We're going strong" the boom is not a drum it's his magnificent bass.....Ah love this man

Avi does the bass singing in the background. I think he had some percussion and another instrument added in as well. He does this in Live concerts as well, which I didn't get to go see, but there are some videos out there from Amsterdam and I think London as well from this year. TFS Avi is one of my favs!! Also, he released an EP in February.

This is so fabulous. "We're singin' all day and you can't tame it" has to be one of the best lyrics ever. That voice. Yum.

This song takes me to some warrior movie. Perfect song for going into battle (in my opinion). Also love Otherside and The Summit. Love the range of Avi!
