In my current job, I ran into a guy wearing one. We bonded instantly. From what I know of the guy, he probably makes close to 400k a year and, being mid 60s, is likely a multi-millionaire. It amuses me to think how many Datejust or Submariner buyers might think he just "can't afford" a Rolex.

Have to say that there is nothing wrong with an Invicta pro diver. Great value for the money. Perfect way to get into the hobby with an automatic watch, a stainless steel case and saphire crystal, without having to max out your credit card. However, your drescription of me as a speedmaster owner was disconcertingly accurate. Especially the bit about moon landing conspiracies. I will slink back to my study where the walls are covered in Apollo mission patches and I can pretend that i'm cool and that my wife is actually interested in my tedious conversations about NASA (or as she describes it "space sh*t). Great video!.

1:50: IWC produced some 80 watches of this style for the German Airforce in the early 1940ies, and the movements of the Laco and that IWC is practically identical. So, why should I buy an IWC if I can have the same thing at a much better price point? On top, watch nerds do know that present IWCs are way overpriced and their quality is light years away from some 40, 50 years ago! On top, if someone likes the design of these watches, initiativ by the German Ministry of Aviation in the 1930ies, it only means that they appreciate that extremely easy to read dial. Nothing else. Otherwise, IWC is calling this watch „Spitfire“, that prooves that people who Like that watch usually do not have and clue about the history behind it. If the name should be historically correct, it had to be a Greman plane, such as ME 262 (First ever used jet fighter in combat), Bf 109 (German counterpart of the RAF Spitfire) or maybe Horten Ho 229 (1st jet stealth bomber, 50 years ahead of the US stealth fighter designs, even proven by the US Airforce labs). I really do appreciate your stuff, but in this case neither Laco nor IWC deserve what you‘re telling… .
