What a great tutorial! It took me a long time to get my gel polish to come out this well. I always use pH Bond too (it’s a dehydrator), it helps so much. I only use primer for nail extensions. For me, the bunching happens when I put the gel on too thick. Better 3 thin coats than 2 thicker coats with bunching.

I had a book that suggested the most natural nail tip echos your nail bed - my nail bed is “squoval”, sort of a softly square-cornered oval. When I shape the edge of my nail to this shape it really does look nice.
@TheMarvelousBeautyChannel14 жыл бұрын
This helped me a lot. I did mine for the first time last night. However, I didn't do the alcohol step or primer that you did at the beginning. Also, I didn't know about capping the edge. Now, I do!! Thank you so much!!

That really helped to just get some basics. A lot of tutorials assume you know what everything is, as someone who hasn't really done my nails properly before it really helped.

@katie5713 Жыл бұрын
1. Try painting with the tip of your nail pointed down so if the gel flows it flows away from your cuticles. 2. Paint the center of your nail and only go up to about 2 mm from the cuticle. Then wipe the excess gel from your brush and "cut in" to finish the edges so the edges are thin and wont flow. 3. Use a nice bright light and check the edges before you cure. Clean up with an orange stick or something, like she did in the video if there is any gel on the skin.

I agree completely with getting bored of the colors. The way I have combated that well still using gel is to use a thermal color changing gel. At least you have two colors and they change back and forth depending on the temperature of your fingers.

Welcome back and BIG CONGRATS!! 💐 I so love the finish and longevity of gel, but my nail beds can’t tolerate the light. It got so bad that it hurt to wash my hair, and they became very discolored as they turned an unattractive shade of dark yellow. This was a few yrs ago, so do you think the technology of the lighting may have changed since then? I always thought they bulbs were the same, and it never occurred to me to ask whether they were led or not. Any advice? Also YOU ROCK!!! 🤓

beautiful colour and wonderful application! The main reason not to cure gel on skin/get uncured gel on skin is because doing so can cause a severe, lifelong contact allergy- you even have to be careful not to get the wipe off layer on your skin when you're wiping it off as it can contain allergens which with prolonged exposure can cause a permanent gel/acrylic allergy :( Good job removing the wrinkled gel nail tho, definitely don't leave uncured gel near your skin

Britt H that doesn’t work for me! I just have to wait until they fall off themselves
@milamarkelova71614 жыл бұрын
@@juliawenda4481 you have to file top coat before putting acetone-soaked cotton on top and wrapping them in foil, although i'd look for liquids which are specially made for removing gel or gel polishes, just coz they have stronger effect than acetone itself. and personally i'd go for using nail bits to take polish off, just coz it's actually more safe than getting your skin soaked in this acetone-based for x-amount of time, as long as you learn how to take polish off using nail bits, which is not hard to learn at all.
