I used to think Jay was a tool because his form is a little loose and he's so huge, but he really does put in a lot of work. Never thought I'd say it, but I think I'd like to see him win the 2012 Olympia.

That's a solid workout if done properly your legs will be sore for 4 days. Short rest periods keeping the pump. Tension on at all times. Still obviously lifting as heavy as possible while keeping form but you can't lift as heavy because the short rests. Too many people are caught up in chasing the weight.

I don't always have a spot either but it's not an excuse to start using a smith machine, it's called a power rack. So if you drop it you drop it on the side racks then you can normally get out from it. Plus if you are training alone then you should know your limits. I've been working out for over 4 years and I have never seen one person use a smith machine to do squats. It's way better with a free bar because then you work all the stabilizer muscles and strengthens the lower back a lot more.

Free weight squats are safer/more effective than smith squats. The problem with smith squat is the bar moves on a fixed path, so it sort of dictates the motion of your hips and knees, causing more stress. I always squat with free weights.

I know sure if its a good advice but Jay could possibly jog a bit than work out his legs you know just to strech them but hey I'm not going to argue over this he is 4 or 5 time mr olympia and the only reason I'm saying about the jog is that my buddy from's the marines and he told me that their coachs say its a good way to relief a lot of tension.
@boodecarlo
@boodecarlo 6 жыл бұрын
KSATica a 300 pound man jogging would probably do more bad than good esp when one little injury can set them back & won't be able to train.

I'm not Jay Cutler but you probably need to see a physical therapist who specializes in sports/weight lifting or just a really good trainer that'll be able to help you develop a program that allows leg workouts without pain or injury. you seem committed so I think it's worth the relatively small expense short term since it'll benefit you long term.
