It's a SuperCar. HyperCar is a term used since the Veyron. And a true SuperCar, not just any sportscar being named that way lately. SuperCar is something like F40, XJ220 or Pagani. Cars like Huracàn or 720 McLaren are SuperSport, they lack the exclusivity of true SuperCar that EB110 represents.

18:56 Dauer was a successful businessman who used his money to open up his own raceteam. After the team won its class (on a Porsche 962) in Le Mans, Porsche allowed him to build a (detuned) 600hp street version based on that car. In the same year, Dauer bought the Bugatti leftovers and upgraded the cars as shown in this clip. The later models did not have the Bugatti badge because by then Volkswagen aquired the naming rights. He made huge losses with all ventures and went bankrupt. Several years later, he was sentenced to three years for tax evasion.

I’m on the other side of this discussion. I would rather hear them talk about how it’s built and how it differs from the “standard” model. All cars drive. I want to know the minutiae why this car is special.

l can't believe l did not appreciate these cars when they first came out.... they are so beautiful now, way better interpretation of a modern day Bugatti than the veyron or chiron. Derek... what a great guest. He reminds me of his father, so knowledgeable and so self effacing.

I saw exact this car live, with another EB 110 in Blue, between 1999 abd 2001 in Nuremberg/Germany, at the Parking lot from the Grand Hotel. The Dauer Company (by Jochen Dauer) was in Nuremberg, thats why you could see a EB 110 from time to time. A few weeks ago i saw another Blue one in a Showroom of a small Car Dealer in Roth, near Nuremberg, together with some Isdera, SL 300 Gullwing and another very special Cars. A absolute Dreamcar
