Hello Jay! I am the crazy lady from California that approached you at the Sacre Couer. You told me that you were working on a Brunch Video and recommended the Hardware Society by the Basilica. We found it but someone that was with me really wanted crepes and alas, they were not on the menu. So we went down the hill. Thank you for being so kind and nice to me. I still can't believe that I saw you that day. I was only in Paris for 3 days but it was amazing. I can't wait to go back! I became one of your Patreon supporters because you took the time to chat with me and to do a selfie. xo Jen

I always say to those staying for many days in Paris: at a certain point, it’s normal to want something other than traditional French fare. Also, what French cuisine is, and has been, is far broader (and multi-cultural) than bistro and brasserie staples. Keep in mind, many French entrepreneurs have traveled to Australia and were inspired by what they experienced and brought elements back to France. Since Paris is a global capital, it makes sense :)

Have you ever tried Breakfast In America? Two places, on in the Marais and the other in The Latin Quarter. They have been there quiet a long time, owned by an American, Craig Carlson. He started as a screen writer and film maker and then ended up with an American diner in Paris. I went there a few years ago, the one on Rue des Ecloles. Its a dive, really busy at lunch but we wanted pancakes and they were good, with butter and we ordered a side of REAL maple syrup. They also have milkshakes. They are good too. Even though we were brunching, I HAD to have a chocolat shake. The burgers looked good, like American burgers. Craig was at The Latin Quarter one where we were and we chatted a bit. Interesting fellow. He generally gets good reviews, but as with any place, there are some bad ones. Anyone interested, you just have to try and see if you like.

Cooper is turning into a big boy. Still super cute & you have done such a good job with training him. I remember a restaurant in the 6em from the lat 80's that did an American style brunch on Sunday & they always had an American football game on a television. Their American clientele would be rowdy & boisterous watching the game & the French would be perplexed trying to figure out what all the shouting was about. When told it was football they would assure one & all that it was not football. All in all it was a lot of fun & a great place to meet Americans living in Paris as well as some French folks who were interested in American culture.

Never mind burgers, this is what real North American food is! But you're in Paris? Why wouldn't you adapt your palate and eat French food. I get it though, you must live there and crave this type of food. On vacation in France, I wouldn't even think of going near these places but living there would be a different story completely. It would have been interesting if you had included the prices of the food. Everything looked really good and if the French prepared them, they must be excellent. Great video!
@JaySwanson2 жыл бұрын
Definitely doing a burger video down the line as well 😆 But Paris is a global city, filled with food from all over the world. So why remain limited to "French" food? Either way, if one craves brunch, one must depart from the French tradition entirely 🤗 When I travel I always enjoy the local traditional flavors, but mixed in with whatever fusion and immigrant food I can find to see how they do it. There's so much out there to try. It's always an enlightening experience.
@Lindsey_Tramuta2 жыл бұрын
I always say to those staying for many days in Paris: at a certain point, it’s normal to want something other than traditional French fare. Paris is a global capital so it’s not surprising that the influences span various styles and cultures and yet travelers dislike that there is international cuisine all over town. The reality is, it’s a wonderful city to get the best of both French classics and so much inventive contemporary cooking that may be North American in format or not at all so neatly defined.
@simonledoux85192 жыл бұрын
@@Lindsey_Tramuta For sure! I dont get tired of French food as fast as other cuisines. But sure, living there or after a week or two, I can see that you might like to have something else. Moroccan or Middle Eastern food is really good there and I have had some decent Asian food as well. Not so much American food but the places and dishes featured in the video looked very good to be sure.
