There's a relatively recent interview with Violent J where he talks about his regret for past homophobic remarks/lyrics. Here's the quote: "At the same time, we were also crazy homophobic back in the day. And now, my daughter says, “Dad, why did you say this?” And I say, “Because your dad was a fucking fool.” I hate to blame Ice Cube, but we wanted to be like Ice Cube. We wanted to be like gangsta rap, and gangsta rap said it all the time. And we had a gay producer! Our producer was gay! And he didn’t give a fuck. It was us three in the studio - night and day, night and day - making these albums. It was something that didn’t come up. It was just part of life back then. We wanted to be hardcore, and that’s why we did it, you know? And when I look back now, what can I say? We don’t have an excuse. I can tell you this: There was never a time when we had a problem with gay people. It was just the word being thrown around, like “asshole.” It was just something we called each other all the time - just a bunch of dumbasses. And the amount of gay Juggalos out there is really surprising. I think about them doing their research and getting the old records, getting excited about it, and getting their hearts broke or something, you know? I tell my daughter, “For the rest of your life, when your friends ask why your dad said that, say it’s because your dad was a fool. Don’t defend me. Say I was a fool then, but I’m not now.” There’s no excuse. I was going with the flow, and that’s the very thing we preach against - being a sheep. And that’s what I was doing"

One of my favorite ICP stories, from a very long time ago. Maxim magazine went through a period where they would take a famous person, give them a budget of say $1,500, and then have that famous person take them on a tour of their Hometown while they interviewed them. Most famous people would take the interviewer to their favorite restaurant, go to venues, go to places that were significant to them growing up. What did the Clown's do? They put something out on their website letting their fans know the day of the interview. They told fans that they could join in if they paid a small fee and brought materials like canned goods, and blankets, also Faygo because that's their gimmick. Then they rented a bus. While the interview went down, the bus took them to local homeless shelter. They donated all of the materials and money gathered by the fans along with a chunk of what they were using for a budget. They also put on a quick little impromptu concert for the homeless shelter. As for where they went to eat? They went to a local restaurant that they've always loved, a little dive bar. While they were there, the interviewer had noted that there were people at the Dive Bar making fun of ICP and complaining about them. Icp's response? They went up to the bar and paid everybody's tab in the entire place. I could go on and on about stuff they've done that really shows them to be great people. The time when they apologized to Terry Funk and when Terry Funk wouldn't take money from them, they left the money under the salt shaker and snuck out of his house. Or how after September 11th and kids were afraid to go out on Halloween, they did concerts and released a single specifically to try and raise spirits.. or the fact that you used to be able to call into their 1-800 number and listen to a song, and on Mother's Day the two of them did a song talking about how wonderful their mothers were for raising them. Their fanbase may be a mixed bag. And for some people they get misunderstood because they can't tell the difference between a storytelling song gimmick and real life. But to me they'll always be some of the favourite stuff I've ever listened to and I have nothing but the utmost respect for them

I’m not too familiar with ICP’s music, but I will always give them props when it comes down to their business sense. They were smart enough to come up with a gimmick that can cross over in different platforms and is marketable. When they want to make music they start their own label. When they want to play a festival they create their own. When they get the urge to ummmm…act I guess? They go out and make movies. When the opportunity came to be in wrestling they eventually started their own fed. They don’t want others to stifle their vision or have middlemen in the way of things they can handle themselves. And you know they aren’t going to do it half-assed either. They know who their fan base is and they give them what they want while creating an environment for them to be themselves. They give other musicians opportunities by signing them to their label and they give the Wrestlers they admire a chance to get a decent paycheck. And it seems they can do all that without getting caught up in all the negativity that ruins a lot of our favorite musicians/celebrities. From what I seen and heard it’s one of the few times you don’t regret meeting your heroes and I respect that along with the business acumen. You get the feeling they’re fans just like you and that’s the reason they make the music they make and book the wrestling they want to book because it’s what they would want to consume themselves as fans.
