I tried to pull it out from the dealer unto a main street in Chicago but it didn’t have enough power! I pulled over and we both did the ugly laugh/cry thing for a long time. Traded it in a year later when hatchback tanks were exploding on 30 mph impact. 😂😂

Random comments from someone born in 1985: My mom is a few years older than you (graduated high school in ‘72). Her first car was a Chevrolet Chevette. She hated The Brady Bunch. However, she had the misfortune of having a daughter (me) who grew up in the ‘90s when The Bradys were making a comeback in movies and cable reruns, so she had to put up with them yet again, lol My father loves Sanford & Son and has seen every episode at least a hundred times. The older woman who lived across the street from us gave us an old Atari and a Pong game because she thought my video game obsessed sister would enjoy it. As a child who grew up with the colorful graphics of Super Nintendo, she was bored after about an hour. My dad, however, loved it, lol I love disco. Our local radio station would play disco music every Saturday night between 7 pm and midnight and I was constantly tuned in. I loved (and still love) Grease. They re-released it in theaters for the 20th anniversary. I begged my parents to take me, but they said no. I made up for it by constantly watching it on cable. I thought Saturday Night Fever would be like Grease, but with disco music. Boy, was I wrong. Still enjoyed the soundtrack, lol I love your videos! It’s like getting a relaxing history lesson. ❤

The countertop dishwasher is funny! My mom also grew up in the 70s, she and her siblings begged to get a dishwasher so they wouldn’t have to wash dishes every night after dinner as part of their chores. My grandpa would say “what do you mean? I’ve got four dishwashers looking at me right now!”. Jeannie B, I'm the original Marine Boy. You know, chew some gum and be able to breath underwater. The 70s were the best of all times..

I vaguely remember that cartoon! Yes, the 70s were great in so many ways!

I was born in 78 so I LOVE seeing stuff like this. I wonder if this is how Gen Z feels abt the 90s😊

Haha, maybe a little, born in 99 and I am super nostalgic over movies and stuff from late 90s and early 2000s. I miss the super saturated colors and funky music.

That Tareyton black eye ad…my dad (who is 67 now) told me he used to sneak cigs from his mom and dad when he was a younger teenager, but one time he nicked one off his aunt and she smoked Tareytons, and he told me that it was so strong he couldn’t stand up straight.

Hi Jeannie! Did you have UHF? We didn't have any form of cable tv in our community or house until 1980.
@JeannieBASMR7 ай бұрын
Yes we did. Our first tv was in the early 60s. 😊

Great look back. I grew up in the '70s, too. My first car was a used VW Rabbit. A piece of junk!

Many of my friends had that same “junker” VW! Lol!😂
