I really tried to get my mitered corners correct, but I really like the LOOK, anyway, of curved corners, SO even If I mastered the squared off corners, I would STILL make my corners curved:)

Another great way to make bunting - thanks Jean. I fold and iron tape or wide ribbon for my bunting. I've been given bias binding tape in the past but was never wide enough for bunting. Love your hair in the pigtails - makes you look a lot younger and your pretty top matches the iron haha
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Lesley! The tape I use is DOUBLE FOLDED, so I can slot in the top edge and stitch it...it's wide enough for me.

Great idea for easy party decoration! I know you have probably shared this info before, but I love the decals on your sewing machine! Where did you get them? I'm only finding decals for stand mixers and nothing as pretty as the ones you have on your machine.

The decals are from a company called www.urbanelementz.com They are called Floral Tattoos

This is pure genius! Would you recommend using interfacing for more stability?
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! myself, wouldn't bother with the interfacing as they are substantial enough I feel, and the whole point is that they make up so quick and easy ~ cutting, folding, chain stitching, turning, ironing and then attaching the binding. It's a quick fun project:) However, you COULD, by all means, use a fusible interfacing if you wanted to:)

May I ask which of your machines do you find is the best for free motion machine quilting? My small, small domestic machine is so hard to quilt on!!!! I need your advice for this newby! Lol

I love your juki
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
I DO love my Juki....the QVP mini has the most wonderful stitches. And it is HEAVY and metal....I feel a real must for free motion quilting. BUT it is JUST a straight stitch machine which does awesome free motion quilting with just a few adjustments to the settings, and you're off! But if you need decorative stitches (blanket, zig zag, satin, etc., ) you may want another all inclusive machine. I have back up machines when I need to do those stitches. You can get the JUKI for around $1000 ~ $1100

What about birthdays for your grandchildren?
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
Being raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses (and all of our children and grandchildren) we can't miss what we never had! However, my husband, Ian, was raised as Church of England till he was 21, when he began studying the bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. He had celebrated, big time, all the holidays and birthdays his entire life. It was when he studied and learned the origins of traditional holidays that he chose not to celebrate them anymore. Our children have never missed out on celebrations, as I said. We celebrate many, many things, however, the day of their birth sort of comes and goes! LOL! We, of course, acknowledge the fact that we are indeed one year older, but choose not to make THAT day a big thing. LOL!

Thanks so much, the information was very interesting.

Figure out how many comments you have. Use the app OR pull from a hat to pick a random number. Countdown to that number comment. That's the winner.
