To be honest I feel the power wagon is the most underrated truck on the market. I have owned a 2012 Raptor 6.2 and now I currently own a 2018 Ram Power Wagon. To be honest I had zero mechanical issues with the Raptor up to 100k miles when sold. But I feel like the ultimate offroad vehicle has to have front and rear lockers with a sway bar disconnect. Now I know Raptor and Power Wagon are two different species. From my experience though out of all these between the Rebel, Gladiator, and Power Wagon it's the Power Wagon. Not only for towing but for just how big it is. I honestly believe it can tow way more than its rated for also. Anyway long live the underdog POWER WAGON !!!!

It seems to me that ram owners are always under attack by the other truck makers, especially on quality, also still refer ram as dodge. Let's face the fact that all truck brands have quality control issues. Recent examples ford's recall on engine block heaters, & currently gm's transmissions issues. Nice video guys. I do get a little disappointed at FCA Power Wagon tow ratings though causing PW smack talk. That Power Wagon can safely haul BOTH those other trucks, together, on a big heavy gooseneck trailer simply by adding two cheap Firestone air bags, and i know that the bags don't hurt off road articulation either. I have a 2016 PW and have pulled 17000 in a dump trailer, on the rear receiver. And nearly every day, in that same 3500lb dump trailer, I pull an 8300lb Yanmar excavator, besides all it's extra buckets and accessories, for about 12k on the ball. So, people can keep crap talking Power Wagon tow capacity on the forums all they want. I KNOW what mine can do. I did install steel wheels to handle the higher daily loads because i wore out the bead area on the original alumies. Now to the half ton. No doubt that the half ton is amazingly impressive. I had a 2015 eco diesel half ton with 4 corner air, it blew my socks off with what it could do, but the PW can do even more, and longer and better with it's supremely beefy axles and frame.

When talking about the power wagon versus other off-road trucks, one very important factor seems to always get missed. Since the P-Dub is a Heavy Duty, that means that the frame, the axles, the hubs, etc. are built much stronger than any half ton or mid-size. So even though your payload and tow ratings are down in the half-ton space, the durability of the components is worlds better. That matters a LOT if you are regularly off-roading, giving your truck a pounding in the nasty stuff all the time. I always say that my Wrangler was the most expensive vehicle that I ever owned. That's because I was constantly fixing broke stuff on it. The P-Dub has held up wonderfully in the kind of use I put my vehicles through.

Never would I spend my own money on jeep or ram. In the thumb nail it said if " I you had 60K " I would buy a XL F150 crew cab V-8 two wheel drive. Then spend 15 K on a bed cover of some kind and the rest on gas for a year or so.

For about $30k you can build a custom CJ that will do everything better.
@dadventuretv25385 жыл бұрын
Victor Johnson except also tow a 6000 lb boat, and keep a mountain bike under lock and key in a bed with a cap. Like the GoFast Cap and camper. Love the CJ, and it’s awesome off road, but has other limitations. These are for those of us that need more than just great off road.

60? Raptor. No one sensible pays even close to MSRP (or invoice for that matter) on RAM trucks for this model year.
I bought a 22 Rebel, I wish I would have gone with the Wagon!

It almost seems like TFL gets royalty checks via FCA concerning how many videos can we post in ref to the all new Jeep Gladiator. Sheesh, enough already. I get it. It's a very short bed mid-size pickup based on an off-road vehicle....we know it will outperform other mid-size trucks especially going off road.

Except the zr2 which you can get for literally almost half the price.

of the 3, the Gladiator is the only one I'd consider of these three. But if I were buying a new truck for offload, it'd be a Raptor.
@thejuiceisloose87035 жыл бұрын
If I had 60k, I'd buy an f250 4x4 with the 6.2. Them add a small lift with 35" tires, a front bumper with a winch, front and rear lockers, and have more than 10k left over for beer and tacos. If I had to choose from these three it would be the powerwagon all the way.

Since they're all Fiat,how many Transmissions were blown up in the making of this video? Do you lose 30% of your vehicle value when you drive it off the lot?

I have a huge problem with the fact my 05’ power wagon has a higher towing/ Payload than the new truck. That just not ok (yes I know coil springs) but still a change needs to be made

Great comparison, as usual!

Without watching this video, my first choice would be the rebel. The gladiator is cool but it can’t tow. The power wagon needs the diesel or a supercharged 6.4. (See AEV ) the rebel seems to be just right.

If you're not buying a ram 3500 that is too heavy hitter version of all the Dodge ram truck

fca could get the price of the gladiator lower....... if they simply based the wrangler on a similar frame out of factory....... frankly even the non loaded one is way to much money......

Actually, if you get the Sport Plus w/ max tow package, you'll have the highest tow rating offered, and be within 50 pounds of highest payload offered, for under 40K.

Chevy needs to step up their game. The ZR2 is still missing LEDs, a sun/moonroof, and chevy's safety suite (blind spot warning, forward collision alert, etc)-- a few basic tech updates and ZR2s could sell like Tacomas.
