I sent your video to to Coleman. Here’s their response: “Thank you for contacting Coleman, The Outdoor Company. We appreciate your time in reaching out regarding the flame from Fyre Series Stove that most people says it's too hot. Thanks for providing us information on the trouble shooting made to make the flame controllable. We'll take note of this on our end for internal documentation. “

Update 4/10/22 WoW Time Flies! Not one complaint, issue or gripe, and if you follow me you know I'm vocal with gripes. Update 9/18/2020 All I can say is... The stove is GREAT NOW! The Propane last a long time as I'm not wasting it on a Huge flame. Soft scrambled eggs at a camp site with bacon properly cooked! Yes, sometimes it seems it takes forever to cook because I have such a low flame. As far as Lubing the O-Rings.... I have had no issues with the Silicone Spray. I had a Coleman White gas stove in the 70's, a Triton in the 90's, now this, and I like this the best of them all. I swear I can get a flame low enough, that I can't tell if its on. Clean up is So Easy since nothing is burned on to the pots. 👍Fjester Approved👍 .

I have a Coleman eventemp 3 burner stove. The lack of fine flame and simmer control adjustment has always been a pain in the ass. I can confirm your hack works on the Eventemp stove as well :) There is a bit more dismantling of the stove involved to get the valves out. The stickers on the knobs need to be removed as they are held on with a screw behind the sticker. I just prised them off with a box cutter knife and glued them back on when I finished. The two round burners need to be screwed off and the 8 x screws holding the bottom tray to the stove body need to be removed. Then you can lift the tray up and lean it back out of the way. No need to disconnect any wires for the igniters. This gives you access to remove the handles and the knob surrounds. Then you will be able to undo the nut on the gas valves and screw them out. I gave them all a spray with brake cleaning fluid and then silicon sprayed them. Works perfectly now! Why coleman doesn’t rectify this in production, I’ll never know! Thanks for coming up with the idea. :)

Your comment was almost the only info I've seen about fixing the heat problem with the Coleman Eventemp so I gave it a go. I disassembled my unit as you described but got as far as unscrewing the bottom tray and removing the handles. I can't seem to disconnect the knob surrounds and can't access the nuts holding the valve body in place and can't budge the internal valve stem. Any guidance would be really appreciated and I can forward pics if they would be any use.

@@SteBren181 Thanks for replying so quickly. Yes, I managed to get the knobs off (other than the igniter) without a problem but I tried using the knobs to undo the valve stems as is being done in videos about this hack but they're really firm and I'm afraid of damaging either the valve stem or the valve stem if I try and force them.

Thanks for the video. This is a nice and easy fix that allows for a simmer flame to be achieved if the dial is very carefully adjusted. But there remains a major problem with these valves. The simmer flame setting is at about -3º to -5º on the dial. From no flame at all to the the very highest flame possible requires the dial to be adjusted as little as 22º. It is much too sensitive and does not allow for quick, easy adjustment. The dial can continue to be turned through a full 360º to 720º and further but it makes no difference to the flame. For the price of this stove Coleman should providing a more sophisticated valve with a much more user friendly adjustment. It is a major shortcoming to a stove which otherwise has some very good features.

Try, Forcing compressed air thru the piping, remove the valves and blow air in, use an air compressor if you have one or the cans of air we use on our PC's. Great hack for the ever present assembly grease aka cosmolene used by all overseas mfgrs. The salt air eats everything rubber, machine steel like guns sitting in warehouses in Sheng Zen. Even my top rated simmering and much turnable Camp Chef Everest had a gunked valve that felt like it had tension like the Uncle demonstrated when turning towards low from the internal grease resistance. It was hard to adjust the flame period. I used a pipe cleaner to get the rest of the funk out of the needle valve seat and bore after this video. Go easy on the o-rings though as they are already impregnated with silicone and harsh stuff like WD 40 will kill them. USE THE CHARMIN TOILET PAPER LOL, ITS SOFT ON HUMAN AND MACHINED ORIFACES! JK 😂🤣😂😜

I sent an email to Coleman, telling them that the inlet gas tube must have been designed while the team was drunk. An absolute dumb-arse design. I also made mention of the crappy grease they use on the flame adjusting spigot. I'm fascinated how they can design a great stove, yet those two very important details just float right past them. I don't know what they're all smoking, but they should stop.
