Hi and greetings from northern Germany. I just got my Maschine+ yesterday!!!. 25 years ago, I started my "journey" into electronic music production with Grooveboxes like the Rolands MC`s, the old Electribes later on, a 1040ST (with Monitor;) running Cubase 1 for Midi with a few Synths.....all used, half broken.....no money.....no sampler.....used 4 Track Cassette recorders and mini discs:))) so....I learned with toys and instruments:))). My room was always too small:) Then DAW and reliable PC`s kicked in, and the last 17 Years, that was normal for me, beside the external use of hardware. Fine so far, does the job. One thing i always kinda missed, with it, was the flow, the sudden momentum you get, the feeling your created patterns are taking you somewhere, response, interaction.....plaaying...its more a feeling thing i would say.....I'm a professional musician and tech for almost 13 years now, I know all the Maschines and Controllers and Mpc's out there. Great gear all around. But the Maschine+.....I almost fell of the chair after not finding a manual....just a little black screencover, telling me, to switch it on and follow whatever is coming.....and to type in my wifi.....1 1/2 h later, all the free content was loaded onto the device.....me, patient as fu**********************........as I am, after 3rd coffee, restarted it, although there was no need to.....just for the chills.....and put the maschine+ on my bed, youtube on my phone, and after an hour learning the structure....bam....the flow was there again! The maschine structure and the workflow in a standalone unit........ I layed down a few sections until now and did the standalone/controller change......copy, paste, done! Other way round.....done....this is amazing. And....homework for next week....get the Synths connected! The CPU Power is NOT an Issue for somebody who knows how to arrange and / or use sends. Absof....lutely not. If you're used to "....i will just put another instance of this IR reverb on channel 93, just a little duller than the one on channel 67....or was it 4..? with a different delay......whatever!*klick*", ........you might get aproblem there:)))) honestly, I just waited for a MASCHINE to go standalone.......I tried them and worked with them, for me, they always where the most haptic and intuitiv controllers/enviroments when it came down to "write by playing"......Now, I can PLAY without the Laptop!! Thanks, NI! And thank you Jeff, for your well made Videos! If I would have seen youre affiliate link before, I would have bought directly at NI!:))))))))) Too late now....sorry:)) Keep going with your videos! You really helped me save some time!! From Muso to Muso a collegial high five Tim

Off Topic - I have had quite a struggle getting Cubase working on my computer! Your videos were inspiration to me - that Cubase is the right DAW for me. I am new to music production and I am having a lot of trouble with how to use Cubase to piece together a large project, re-interpretations and variations on a popular melody. I am working on a song that has different parts and I intend to create variations on each. My project will be a mix of VST instruments and audio tracks. I am just beginning and will be developing my ideas as I go. So I will want to have, for instance, five or six different first sections that I will glue together with other elements. I need a system to work things out, like a scratch pad where I can save X intros, X verses, X bridges, and x improvisations. I guess it's more how do I develop ideas using my software? How do you go about a large project? Most of the videos I see start with a drum, add chords, etc. This isn't that kind of project. Do you have any suggestions or can you point a finger in the right direction? Thanks for all the great videos that have helped me get up and running (maybe more like jogging - and I fall down often!) with your informative videos.

I would have thought that if you plugged a Kontrol S61 into it, that the displays, buttons and rotaries would mirror the ones on the Maschine+ so that you didn't need to lean over to it when trying out different patches. But that doesn't seem to be happening in your video - looks like the S61 is just in generic midi mode. I wonder if they plan that for a future update?
@jefgibbons4 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too! I haven't explored it further, but I don't think it does look like normal Komplete Kontrol when using it with standalone... To be honest I rarely use the controls on the keyboard, but it still would be nice!

Will that apply the FX directly on each group stems or will it export the dry signal for each group and for the FX send group a merged mix of any sounds that go through the Aux outs ?
@jefgibbons3 жыл бұрын
You could choose, make sure the FX group is also soloed when you export your stem if you want to hear the fx, or just make sure it's muted if not. I think that's what you mean!

@@jefgibbons supposing I solo the FX group, I will get just a master mix though instead of individual stems right ?

@@al8xandros As long as something is muted, it won't go the the aux send. So if you had one group and the fx solo'd, you would only hear the fx of that one group running through it. If you JUST solo the fx group you won't hear anything since nothing will be sent to it. Hope that makes sense!

I’m looking forward for the disk streaming update that will take off the cpu load on the Maschine plus. My prediction with NATIVE INSTRUMENTS the MASCHINE STUDIO plus will be a fully loaded powerful stand-alone with a better cpu and a touchscreen with a XLR input of a price tag $2,399.
@jefgibbons4 жыл бұрын
Not a bad prediction! That would be pretty sweet...

Disk streaming isn’t to save CPU, it would save the RAM memory. But on Maschine+ you already have a lot more RAM available than on competitors. Also Kontakt does have DFD (direct from disk) mode :-) And if you need XLR and phantom power, you can simply connect an external audio card via USB to Madchine+. NI audio cards are supported, but many third party ones should work too

Maschine+ 1.5 with Maschine 2.17.5 update, added VST3 support (for Maschine+ compatible content), a fix for Reaktor patch loading, and updates for all NI plugins. Update directly from your unit's WiFi-connected Settings page." - Thought you might want to know - don't see anyone talking about it yet! Email received 5 hours ago

Ah good :) Same here - work and xmas prep in the way, but will delve in at the weekend! Happy holidays, and let me hope there’s something good in there. Looks like a soft launch till a few of us try it - can’t find any release notes! Was hoping for cloud file storage to save me pulling that pesky SD card in and out - but no luck yet from what I can see! Happy hols, and look forward to hearing your thoughts once we work out what it does!

Have said this elsewhere, but bears saying again: My working theory is that they’re working on a new model, at which point we’ll get a version 2.0 for the current one, and cloud support to compete with the Push 3. They must be working on an NI Cloud for all their other stuff…

You would hope now that Machine+ is out and has CPU considerations, they will start optimising their expansion packs properly and not needlessly pile on loads of pointless duplicate reverbs.

Guys like Blezz Beats and FizzENT are doing great videos on it! It’s another weird paradigm shift that works in the Maschine environment, but it’s still something strange to wrap your head around! Once we get working with them I think we’ll like them.

Mashine + is rare! But I’ll stick with mashine studio. Using shortcuts is a no bueno for me. Just give me a button with what I want. Using shift as shortcut gets ridiculous after a while.

Yo, what's good man? New subscriber to your channel here.. Yo! Check it out.. I got a question for you about an older product tho.. and that's the "maschine studio".. if you can help me out with this.. How do you simply arm/light up the next pad so that you can record a sound onto it? All these videos on youtube and nobody's showing how this is done. So I said, maybe he (you) could help me out. Oh! And also, how do you simply record what you're playing? Sorry to ask these questions bro, but the Maschine Studio manual, along with Native Instruments support is " nothing!" So, if you could help me out with those two things.. yo, good lookin
