Watercolor Time Challenge: 10 Minutes, 1 Minute, 10 Seconds!

This watercolor time challenge is so much fun! I painted watercolor flowers in 10 minutes, tried the same flowers in 1 minute, and again in 10 seconds! It was intense to say the least... This is a great practice in not over-thinking your art, you gain some fun techniques along the way, and definitely a few laughs!

Jenna you are so fun! :-) I was thinking you could use a brush in each hand - ambidextrous painting, LOL! For the 10 minute one, I wish you could stop the clock and let the initial shapes dry ... like, make it a "5 minutes times 2" challenge or something. That's one big difference between watercolor and drawing: time to let paint layers dry. I'm going to have to try this! No excuses of "I don't have time to paint today" - - I can find 10 minutes EVERY day. Cheers! :-)

I love the first part of it I can still use that first floral arrangement to practice on and I am getting a lot better I'm feeling a lot better since I got some new brushes and lots and lots of new paint so now it's just an matter of finding good enough practice paper there's no way in hell I would do 10 seconds mine looking exactly like that anyway so I guess they're getting a little bit better minor as good as probably the one minute one but still need a lot of practice and I love it love it love it love it so thank you for this I will do this!

me: I don't have time to paint Watches Jenna paint for ten seconds..... which then makes the ten minute challenge seem like a mellow & comfortable amount of time... Waffles is great! Been following her for a very long time. Thank you for trying this out ^^ Great way to learn and loosen up ^^ this exercise is really good for those who keep messing around with too many details and keep going back in to get things super perfect. There is nothing wrong with it, but it can really mess with your focus on anything that isn't a detail. It's also a great way to challenge yourself and check how you deal with time limits and also what your strong points and weaknesses are.

It's like a fun challenge that I've seen, with 10 minutes you have completed a very beautiful flower picture, in 1 minute the picture is almost not perfect, and in 10 seconds it is too bad. But your painting is great, thanks for your sharing.

I LOVE this video. It brings the fun back in. I think our poor artist souls need that most days. May I ask a question? How do your watercolors always stay so moist in the pallette? 10 minutes seems really long (for you). Id try the challenge again with 5 minutes, 2.5 minutes and a 45 second. Painting and drawing are so different.
