Jeremy Corbyn accused Boris Johnson of leaving a legacy of “poverty, inequality and insecurity” in his speech at the Commons, ahead of the confidence vote.
Boris Johnson listed the achievements he said he was “proud” to have accomplished during his time in office, including Brexit and leading the country out of the pendemic.
“I’m grateful to the prime minister for taking a break from his fantasy tour of this country”, former Labour leader Mr Corbyn said in his intervention.

What does giving your entire life to the working class actually achieve? It just sounds nice, the working class aren't typically that productive. Johnson actually cares about equal opportunity, whereas Corbyn's policies would've made it more difficult for a working class boy like myself to start the business I have been vying for. I wanna know what Corbyn can actually achieve, he speaks about Boris's legacy as if he didn't come to power during the pandemic, the onset of a recession and loan crisis, a war and Brexit. Corbyn's statement doesn't really have any integrity in all honesty.

Don’t you get why there is inflation? What would labour have done differently to combat inflation stemming from the combination of increased spending due to pent up covid savings and a cost push on supply from the Russia/Ukraine war. Some economic issues are inevitable no matter the political party in charge, the USA is going through a very similar situation right now. I’m neither a conservative nor a labour supporter as both parties only adhere to their own populist agenda designed to create a false hype and grab as many votes as possible however it is very wrong to act as if the Labour Party is some knight in shining armour just because they suit your needs, the Labour Party heavily favours short term growth over long term growth by making idealistic promises which will only become a long term drag to the economy.

@@beaufighter245 Just where do you think the money comes from for everything? It comes from people adding value to things, who unfortunately also tend to be the people who benefit least from that work. @beaufighter245

@@Mcsqw no, you have avoided answering where the money for benefits comes from. The anti capitalist rhetoric is nonsense. Benefits are paid from taxed income of those that work. To advocate a society for people to languish on benefits will ultimately destroy any economy. That is why I asked, what is the threshold, where is that "low income" set? Take into account that the UK is a free society, everyone has a chance of education. How one uses that is, essentially, up to them. Just why, should I pay for anyone whose CHOICE is a life on benefits? I'll happily support anyone who cannot work through genuine disability but, not when they are fit and able bodied.

I miss Corbyn. He's the first (and only) Labour leader I fully support. I won't be voting Labour until he's leader again (which won't happen). But of course, we can't have a "communist" leading the government (firstly, why not? It'd be better, but secondly, Corbyn isn't and was never a communist). If we'd voted his Labour government into power in 2019 it would have changed the face of Britain forever, now we're stuck in the same downwards spiral.
@K0msur
@K0msur 2 жыл бұрын
@Member Berry No, he's not a communist, but the mainstream media (and Tories) labelled him as such because he wanted to nationalise broadband (and raise tax by like £2 per person, but the result would be free internet for everybody) and he was left-leaning in a world of right-wing Labour parties, hence the inverted commas.
@K0msur
@K0msur 2 жыл бұрын
@Member Berry Fine, I'll spell it out to you: - Corbyn suggested nationalising broadband - In order to nationalise something, you have to raise tax in order to make up the difference the private corporation was making, but because it's paid for by everybody in the country (that pays tax), you only have to raise it a small amount AND also because there's no private entity trying to make insane profits, you would only be paying £2 per month instead of £50+ a month. - The Labour party is a right-wing party, it's a thing in politics called the Ratchet Effect whereby a political party on the left gradually shifts to the right in a bid to "be like the guys in office previous to this extreme right-wing government". For example, Starmer's Labour party are modelling themselves after Cameron's Tory party. Corbyn was unpopular because he put his Labour party into the left again and actually represented what Labour are supposed to represent, but because that's "too extreme" (it's not) boomers and idiots voted against him for being a "communist" (because anybody with even slightly left-leaning views is branded as a hardcore communist by the people of the UK). I don't really know what's so hard to understand, but there you go.
@K0msur
@K0msur 2 жыл бұрын
@Member Berry And now we reach the crux of the problem; people not understanding why broadband is essential in the 21st century. Want a job? Apply online. We need broadband to be available to all, and be free. Labour aren't left-wing, they haven't been left-wing since the 1950s. Trust me, I'm a socialist, I'm left-wing, Labour are right-wing as a neoliberal party in the modern world. Labour against strike action and unions, support Brexit, and are internally debating making abortion illegal, none of these are left-wing policies, they're just not as right as the Tories.

I remember campaigning for Corbyn in both elections. 2019 was very painful, cold and wet December. The press didn't help, however the left have no institutions to back a candidate like Corbyn. Jeremy didn't get time to mention the following. Inflation at it's highest level for 40 years. The pound has collapsed to it's lowest value for 37 years. Heating and electricity bill have increased by 54%. Petrol and diesel is at it's highest level ever. "Unemployment is down." Of course it is, we have just come out of a pandemic and lock down.
@veggie42
@veggie42 2 жыл бұрын
People died who were unemployed like disabled. Lots of suicides of young people, people have emigrated including people who decided they would sooner stay in the EU. British also are emigrating too older people..Some of which before died of Covid,cancer etc. People got new jobs. cafes have become takeaways that means more jobs as delivery services. Corner shops have opened and hired more staff. Foreigners. More migrants have got jobs..Each day people are stabbed to death. die in car accidents..die of dog bites,domestic violence, road traffic incidents, suicides, diseases, alcohol and drugs, shooting and all sorts. Their jobs would go to unemployed and more migrants are allowed to work so then they could fill the gaps Problem is still there's some unemployed on legacy benefits..More will be worse off when they have to go onto UC. The govt also cut the temporary uplift of £6bn UC. Instead to slightly uplift UC for working people so they kept more..I'd not have UC for disabled ESA on support group. I'd move the support group amount to PIP to increase PIP then people can afford the dentist without having to use the NHS. I think there shouldn't be NHS dental appointment charges anywhere in the UK..The money saved would be instead more might go to the dentist reducing exemption fraud in the NHS which costs lots of money a year, instead raise the charge of treatment so that people who go abroad for cosmetic dentistry pay more for treatment. Those with good teeth shouldn't be paying for appointment charges. That incentivises people to look after their teeth also.
@veggie42
@veggie42 2 жыл бұрын
He did want to Abolish Band One NHS dental charges. Kemi Bademoch should call for this it would encourage people to get dental check ups, it would also prevent fraud of exemptions as much as it is encourage those with good teeth to carry on. Charges don't help the NHS at all. Quite a few people never see the dentist as a result they risk poor overall health. Johnson had nothing on dental care just raiding the NHS charges. Fancy raising Band One which is hardly anything to nearly £24...a lot of money. People end up going private it's nearly as cheap and get a better check up for the money.
