Especially because not only are you taking into account that pc specs, setups, and platforms are different for almost every player, but now there are different vr platforms and hardware setups that are unique and seem to have their own issues. The psvr port isn't very good, but it's good enough to have a fun time for a free update to a game I already love. I've been having a blast with it despite it's issues and it seems like jerma here had lots of fun despite his issues with it as well, he said he might even play it again. Having played both the psvr version and this version, honestly I think the port isn't even that bad, and I don't even see many people talking about or showing a lot of the details they added to make the vr version work more than if they actually put no thought into it. It's not a good port, but I think it stemmed from psvr's own limitations, and lack of budget/resources to make the pcvr version as good as it could be. AAA vr hasn't proved profitable quite yet unless you're valve so big companies aren't likely to let devs spend too much time or money on a vr port. Let alone a FREE one. if you can tolerate not walking around all the time and using the sticks instead I think it's worth a try. Imo i had more fun playing it than I did HL:alyx to be completely honest, but that's mostly down to how fun hitman games already were.
@JacobKinsley2 жыл бұрын

The only VR games I'm even slightly interested in are boneworks and using a headset in like elite dangerous or dcs. It's always been a dumb fucking gimmick to sell graphics cards and I can't wait until it dies. Literally the only VR exclusive that isn't a worthless phone game is boneworks. and that's just half life. also ten times better than Alyx.
@id-null2 жыл бұрын
@@wearecoterminous Boneworks has a great framework but the game itself isn't all that fun to play imo. It needed better story, world design and set pieces to carry it. I did have more fun with boneworks than alyx though. I'd put blade and sorcery up there with boneworks in terms of pure fun. Maybe even more with mods. Overall despite it being centered more on shooting, I think I'd consider H3VR(Hotdogs Horshoes, and Hand grenades) my top vr game. The amount of depth in the Take and Hold game mode alone is fantastic and you really genuinely feel yourself getting better and better at handling stress and thinking more tactically the more you play. Again mods make it even better, some turning it into vr versions of other games with it's character and map mods. You just have to get passed the fact you're shooting hot dogs instead of human targets and you can be deeply immersed. If vr was truly a gimmick it would have been long dead by now, and a thousand dollar vr headset wouldn't be one of the most highly praised pieces of tech in the modern industry. You'll be waiting a long time for it to die. If anything it will only die if it's superseded by an even more immersive medium. EDIT: Just realized H3VR has the same acronym as hitman 3 vr LMAO hitman is far from my fav vr game.

a VR game really shouldn't need a particularly in-depth tutorial. especially if you've already played plenty of flat hitman. this is simply all around a failure of a VR port. even skyrim/fallout 4 VR, both rather mediocre ports of flat games, had roomscale and physical crouching... in 2017, which are just the most basic of the issues with this game. I just can't believe they thought this was OK to ship.
@PlutosWorld2 жыл бұрын
@@rawhide_kobayashi Honestly all these VR ports are just lazy cashgrabs, they're alright to mess around in but as a game they're absolutely broken, the fact that Jerma couldn't even pick up another can at 16:58 immediately let me know how little thought they had put into this port. VR is it's own category of video game and highly successful VR games like Boneworks only further prove this because they would not work as a regular game, with the current state of VR, the games need to have very basic gameplay loops built around a fun sandbox with complete interactability.
@rawhide_kobayashi2 жыл бұрын
@@PlutosWorld not ALLLL of them, but many significant ones that you'd really hope would be better. plenty are great, without too many super outstanding issues, like no man's sky, elite dangerous, anything by croteam... but this is obviously just a straight up port of the existing PSVR mechanics, which were terrible to begin with. so it's like a double port. if VR didn't suck, they would've had my money, even at the outrageous prospect of paying full price for a game after epic *and* psvr exclusivity contracts. but boy. I waited one year. I may yet wait another.

I love it when the gremlin is let loose in a sandbox where anything is possible. Brings me so much fucking joy.

Jerma plays Jerma in VR, where you wander around as Jerma in an underground parking garage (and other various settings) and brutally murder people while pretending to be them afterwards. This is actually kind of scary to watch.

I rarely get motion sickness in VR but watching this stream wiped my inner ear out completely. this does not look like a good VR experience at all.

Man, that sucks. Jerma refused to ever go back to when he got the costume so he couldn't ever actually complete it anyway.
