Jerry-31 Binocular Night Vision Setup under $4500!

Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out the video,and I hope this gives you a good idea of what goes into building a binocular NVG setup on the (relatively) cheap!
The setup uses a set of Jerry-31 ‘s purchased from custom night vision with the Jerry battery pack. Total for this was about $4200
Next I grabbed the helmet, which was a cheap Amazon knockoff of an opscore high-cut, which ran about $50 here: a.co/d/cfdcGbq
Needed some ear pro on the helmet too, so I mounted a set of Walker’s razors that we found on sale at Scheels ($29.99) on some knockoff amp arms from Amazon ($50) found here: a.co/d/glweF9C
Finally, we finished off the lenses with some jerry lens adapters from Cold Harbor Supply which were $23 each (about $50 after shipping) and can be found here: shop.app/p/9123941777717?vari...
Once I had the lens adapters, I added on the iris and sacrificial lens combo found here for $90 a.co/d/4EKNcRb
And that’s it! I had a lot of trouble figuring out what exactly I needed to buy to build out a helmet, and I really didn’t have any interest in spending as much money as some of the particularly gucci setups that I typically see on KZbin. This setup works perfectly fine for hiking, stargazing, and airport and I hope this answers some questions that you might have about how expensive is it really to get into this hobby with a setup like this.

How do you like the J31 itself? Good enough or going to upgrade one day? Curious as I'm just starting to get serious about NV.

Overall, incredible for the price! They work great in every situation that I have put them in, controls are good and tactile, and the built in IR illuminator is a big bonus. I only have 2 gripes with them: non-standard objective lens size(which limits accessories unless you get the CHS adapter rings) and the chromatic aberration that you get from lights. Neither of these gripes make them unusable, and really are nitpicking. I just got a chance to use some PVS-31’s a month ago and really not that much difference besides the CA, so I would highly recommend the J31’s if they fit into your budget!

@@afdude2220CA can largely be tuned out with the iris adapters, although when it’s damn near pitch black out and you have them wide open, I feel like the slight tint on the sacrificial lens helps a bit too
