Thank you, needed this as I would rather isolate and not interact with people. This is not allowing me to advance in the world.

Unfortunately, I was a told by the toxic individual that my persona gives mean vibes. This is right after I provided an assertive comment. It is tough to deal with these people. Their lack of empathy and self awareness make them seem like psychopaths.

That is a great technique! Thank you! I never know how to deal with people like that. I feel bad when I don’t help so that gives me a less direct way to respond. Love it!

Phenomenal video as always Jerry. Your analogy with the fly and examples of the church addicts is so relatable and spot on. This is why learning to set healthy inner and outer boundaries and applying them in real life situations is so important. I saw this amazing movie called the Good Person. It really made me appreciate and feel so beyond grateful for how far I have come in my healing for not only myself, but my children as well.💛 Thank you for always sharing all of your wisdom and insight Jerry. Your teachings have helped me beyond words and I am humbly grateful.🙏

Thankyou for the validation. I did this with my sister on a trip last year. She then sent me a poisonous letter by snail-mail saying I bullied her. It was just the message I needed to go gray rock.

Thank you for helping me frame things in a type of way that makes all this madness feel more palpable. I always get something from your videos ? I think I have a narcissistic therapist *or* he is really, really reminding me of a family abuser with his speech and mannerisms. Why would he not be hearing my no? I'm just not going to go forward with him, since I already opted out. I just find myself going back on my own boundaries...

I hear you. I have a therapist who's helped me in many ways, but she clearly doesn't understand personality disorders. She consistently resists validating my interpretation of my family's behavior and tries to convince me that my view of them is distorted. I've accepted that she can't help me in dealing with my family, but thankfully there are lots of resources out there to help, including, of course, Jerry's videos. I stay with her but only discuss things she can help me with. When it comes to dealing with my difficult family members, I follow the advice of people who understand and my own intuition. Trust yourself! A therapist should be there to support and help us grow, not to make us feel bad.
