If Pillman hadn't had the car accident, he almost positively would have had a main event run right in the same pocket w/ Stone Cold, the Rock, 'Taker, Foley, and HHH (in fact, Hunter probably would have wound up smooshed out of the picture, IMO). That gives you around a dozen different main event programs (actually, you could probably wind up with around 20, as guys make face or heel turns) to switch in and out of storylines for almost ten years--all potentially epic. Can you imagine? Now throw in the guys that come in w/ the '00s, like Guerrero and Angle (a fucking Pillman / Angle match with both of the them game? Jeeezus!). WCW wouldn't have stood a chance (and they were gone by 2001 anyway--they probably could have been completely buried by '99 if Pillman stayed healthy).

Yeah but it’s different. It’s like CM Punk’s pipebomb. Cornette praised it. He didn’t say “Another jackoff exposing the business like it’s all a big joke” because it felt gritty and real.
