48:05 Whoa. Did not expect Kölsch to be mentioned. Typical for the city of Cologne in Germany. Sweet, crisp beer. I love it. Made to be drunk, not to get analysed too much. Grolsch on the other hand is from the Netherlands, rather bitter style of lager IMO. We had a school-trip where that beer was the shit for us youngsters....

Mead is made with honey. I don't think it's considered beer. I was a beekeeper and decided I should try some mead. I had to special order it from a liquor store. It's TERRIBLE!

It’s brewed the same as beer with different ingredients. If you had to special order it, that store probably doesn’t have a good selection and I’d highly recommend trying a different one, or better yet try someone’s homebrew mead. The home brewed meads I’ve had have been delicious.

Funny but struggled to ignore the incorrect comments by the ‘experts’ and the assumption that the world uses the same terminology and definitions as the USA. In fairness though, the errors were historic fact and general knowledge rather than actual technical brewing knowledge. It’s just that my stupid brain struggles to let it go. For example “IPAs have so many hops so they could survive the journey to India”. This is one I hear a lot and even expect it from most but not from someone who are in the position of “expert”. This is simply not true. The ‘craft’ beer definition too, in the US, yes, but the rest of the world don’t use that. There is no set definition for most countries and it comes down to common useable to define it. Finally, I love you Jim but I beg you to stop calling the atrocity that is strongbow cider. It’s an insult to real cider (a term, like real ale) which is a traditional English drink. Just avoid brewing history, I beg you! Sorry for the rant, I really held back too lol
