Mother of god! What? What? What the hell did I just listen to? I have just listened to this song 4 times back to back and cannot get over this guys voice. How in gods name is it possible that I have never heard of him and that voice? Seriously that was insane! What is it with Australia… how can a small country on the other side of the world produce so many talented musicians, singers, actors, athletes…. Is there something in the water? Seriously this the most beautiful thing I have ever heard…. He must make you Aussie’s so damn proud. Jimmy made an amazing documentary a couple of years ago which is all about his childhood, moving with his family from Scotland to Australia. His father was an extremely violent alcoholic and his childhood sounded like pure hell. You can see why he became such a madman in later years. He was famous for drinking a whole bottle of neat vodka on stage during a show. Thankfully he met Jane and she straightened him out. When I hear this song I just know Jimmy is singing it for her.

That grit comes from experience and time and is totally missing from today’s music. Us old timers have all these decades of music to choose from and I find us always going to it and really appreciating every chord, riff, sound. Tedeschi/Trucks is the best keeping it true now. We need music like this today....emotional, physical, and ,oh, the lyrics with those gut wrenching growls and moans. To me, this is the music! The color, the religion, the beliefs....just fade away when you hear this..we are so much more alike than different. Let’s keep it going, bro, keep it alive and moving. Thank you for what you are doing.

Jimmy has been around since 1973, originally as the lead singer for Cold Chisel, an Aussie Pub rock band. Jon Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. He started his career at age 12, when he opened for B.B. King. Cold Chisel were an integral part of Australian music through the 70's, 80's and 90's and even into the 2000's. Jimmy is 65, but like a fine wine only gets better with age.

2:57 "you better play on those drums". You are impressed by Jimmy Barnes, the drummer is his son Jackie. And daughter Mahalia on backup vocals. Jimmy has SO MUCH TALENT that he can gift HUGE amounts of talent to his kids, and still shock everyone that has the honour of listening to him sing. The song was written by Don Walker, the keyboard player from Jimmy's band Cold Chisel.

I'm really surprised that you have not reacted to just Joe , he is a great vocalist as well as a song writer , and a world class guitarist

@@kevkoala thanks I couldn't remember his name. I was at his first gig he did with his Dad in country Qld at a fundraiser. I think he was in another band and stepped up to play for Jimmy as well. Was a wild night.
