Jimmy's playing is outstanding and over the next 5 years through the end of the 98 tour would prove to be some of his best work in over 20 years.

This is the cherry les paul he used as spare in the 73 tour (you can see it in clips in the song remains the same video).I think it was orinally a gold top the re sprayed the fitted with the b bender after zep days(he used the tele with b bender then).If you watch black dog on srts you,ll see it at end shot and it don,t sound as good as his 59(obviously!!).Also Page damaged his little pinky twice from about 74 and his playing has never been the same(watch how he uses it in srts)sad but true!!

Obviously they don't need Jonesy, they sound incredible with just the two of them. Page & Plant= milk & honey. Amazing!
@HalcyonGuitars3 жыл бұрын
If they had included Jones, it would have been Led Zep with a different drummer which I think they were trying to avoid. Not to mention that the drummer and the bassist were a pair, a well tried built in rhythm section...:)
@0sumgamezzz4352 жыл бұрын
Obviously Weaver Brown is a goofball, we don’t need these no nothing people commenting on anything to do with Led Zeppelin.
@amoondra9 ай бұрын
in my opinion, while page and plant themselves are amazing, jones just brings that real feel and groove to the song, which this version lacks severely. Page is phenomenal in this recording, but the bass is just missing in my opinion.

my opinion will never change, Pages playing was his best in 1969-1971. His songwriting reached its peak after zeppelin2, but his guitar playing on the bbc sessions is fantastic.

@1glassMilk13 жыл бұрын
Off course he makes a lot of mistakes during the whole song. Lets be honest. He is sloppy. But still you can hear that 1) he has an own sound and 2) there is still some of that magic guitar playing of the 70's.

if you ever heard the original Dazed and confused, you'd know how much Page changed it. Page's peak was 71-75 or so. before the smake smaked him down,

i disagree i dont think his songwriting reached its peak until he was too fucked up to write anymore. the rain song is one of the best written songs, so is ten years gone.

Pagey...he's so erratic like here he is awesome all though the song but then when it comes time for the solo...well it's just ...well it's hard for me to say this but it's not so good, but damn he tears up the rest of the song!

@aryinc15 жыл бұрын
jimi is really good but his playing hurts my ears a bit way out of key blues stuff.i aint dissing his playing but hes like dave mustaine in the mechanix just sounding to wild and leaning to sloppy sound.i prefer blacmoore way smoother and also prefer eddie more and al thos others.this playing sounds pretty yuck compared to hendrix eddie clapton jeff beck etc.
@fredbug13 жыл бұрын
@MrPageyzoso Who the f**k likes this more then J Hendrix. There is only one guitarist who's better then all the rest and his name is Jimi Hendrix.
@olegsoltis330511 жыл бұрын
Steve ray von had way too more dynamics to this type of songs. it is said with great respect to LZ, although, in my opinion, G Page is an overrated guitar player.
