Starscream_xxx Well, Redbull had a Renault engine and they were keeping up with Mercedes and Ferrari, and keeping up well by the second half of the season. Well, at least Verstappen’s Redbull was (cries in shoey). Anyway I think they’ll do better this year, not top three better, but better nonetheless.

@@nanderlizernanderlizer684 Suzuka is not really great for overtaking. The 130R kinda breaks the tow when you're following another car closely, and that makes overtaking at the Casio Triangle really difficult. Apart from that, the track lacks long straights and hard braking zones anyway.

Just like you i was too young to know how to choose a track or just picked the first one i remember always picking schumacher and albert park i was on F1 2004 on the ps2...i remember i wasnt good at all at the time but i simply didnt care same story for gt4 where i was picking whatever car the game was showing me there was so many of them...Good old days i guess

It might be that the track is a little too fast because there's much more in it, but on other tracks the RSS 2000 is a bit more accurate on pace. Car might be a bit quick to start with at Albert Park though since RSS wanted to find a middle ground between early and late season development.

During this era (late 90's-00's) Mika Hakkinen, to me was God. At the age of 13 I experienced my first F1 GP at Albert Park in the year 2000. my hero carrying the No.1, blitzed pole position and was all but untouchable all weekend ...couldn't have asked for anything more...life was sweet...until raceday!! That weekend was the definitive moment the MS-ferrari dynasty started,it was also the definitive moment I realized that I hate MS and Ferrari because they ruined my 13th dirthday fairytale of witnessing a live McLaren victory...twas not to be.

Häkkinen and Australia. From his crash in Adelaide in '95 to winning in Melbourne in '98. So many memories. AFAIK The track hasn't changed since 1996 but they might have resurfaced it a couple of times. And let's not forget this is a sim of a 20 year old car/track. PS. The Ferrari F2004 did a 1:24.125.

It is indeed a mod by rss studios. (I think jimmer says that in the video). They probably just tweak some parameters of the car so it produces lap times close to the cars real counterpart. So the cars are not modelled exactly right, but there pace is about equal

Wow, the ignorance and misinformation here is fucking unbelievable. Why do people always think they know something, or better yet, ASSUME they know if something is true or not? Like, people are so quick to jump to conclusions and say "its guess work" with absolutely nothing to back up that statement except for your own thinking. I see this all the time these days, and the sad thing is that other people would just blindly believe bullshit like this and not bother to do even a quick google search or wikipedia check to see if whatever they're reading is wrong. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, from the physics to the sounds to the tyre modeling to the visual modeling is as accurate as an official car. Rss found and looked at the official ferrari technical documents on the f2000 (its 19 years old), which included engine specs (bore and stroke, compression ratio, fuel flow, a chart for torque and hp, weight of the engine, etc), individual weights of specific components, shift speed of the trans, weight distribution front to back and cross weights along with suspension geometry. They also recreated frequency by frequency the EXACT sound of the engine by using a spectrogram to analyze some high quality clips of the engine throughout its rev range to reproduce the exact harmonic frequencies and other shit I'm too lazy to explain, so the sound is scientifically correct. Tyres are correctly modeled with the proper compound/formulas, etc. On the visual side, the team actually flew out and went to see the real f2000 and took pictures of literally everything, so they can accurately model the cockpit and exterior.. All in all, the number of polygons exceeds that of official kunos cars and approaches forza levels of detail. In total, they say it took over 1000 hours of fucking work to research, build the car and do the physics and everything else. Many car mods for assetto corsa, especially ones by rss and vrc have many hours of work put into them (not as much as this one tho lol). So yea, its not just guesswork ;)

I know they can go and look at old footage and so on, and they get damn close. But it's still guess work, it's how they think it would be to drive. Don't get me wrong, I love rss cars, but no, it's nothing like real cars. It's only a game mate.
