I for one think it's overrated :) But great! I just have trouble taking too much of Jan+Michael. And in terms of episodes that are outside the usual Office workplace formula, I think "Deposition" is much, much more cleverly constructed and brilliant in its humor and storytelling. "Dinner Party" is more an excuse for some really funny gags about how crazy two characters are, which is fine, but doesn't blow me away.

Michael is a bit of idiot in this episode (and almost every other) but he deserves better than Jan and DM corporate. Although TBH I think he deserved getting laughed at by Toby over the Ryan comments.

The Survivorman episode must have been a big W for fans that think/thought Jim is super smug and was in need of being knocked down a peg. But the episodes immediately after are friggen monumental .. absolutely epic. I think the writer's said that The Deposition was the staff's favorite episode ... and given what episode follows, that's a huuuuuuge statement. This episode had some of the biggest laughs for me: (1) obviously, when mike slowly pushes toby's tray to the floor loool, & (2) kelly's example theoretical trash talk, "your mommas so fat she could eat the internet." That caught me so off guard!

From "Branch Wars" to "Dinner Party" we have 3 of my favorite episodes of the season...with "Survivorman" stuck in the middle, being only "good". But I always forget to give it props for the Jim-Michael stuff. Honestly it's out of character for Jim to suddenly want to do less goofing off at work by condensing the parties, but it's worth it for the bit, and he and Michael are really sweet at the end.

Everything Michael does & says to Toby is def malicious. I know Toby isn't the most likable guy in the world & is sometimes downright creepy...that was just mean. As far as Jan & Michael go, they are both narcissists of the highest order. The difference is Jan is very intelligent & Michael is a moron. The relationship just brings out the worst in each of them, but it's a hilarious ride🤣🤣🤣

I think it's bad to go into something hearing expectations and responses from audiences about how well received things were, so it sucks to hear that you've had people hyping up Dinner Party. I think a part of what makes that episode so great (as well most films and tv episodes) is that you go in not knowing what'll happen and with it starting off seeming like a regular episode before it just keeps building and building and the characters get more uncomfortable as it goes on until it reaches the climax (that's what she said).

People seem to forget, or just not understand, that all the strike did was shorten the seasons. It's not as though they had different people writing the episodes after the strike began, and every scripted TV show finishes their episodes WELL before they are broadcast (well, except maybe South Park). This season ends on episode 18, so that is how far ahead the writing had been when the strike began.

Good lord! There is this whole…majority?…of people out there that love to hype a specific episode up and it kills me every time I see the amount of thumbs up for said comment. Dude, be aware that not everyone’s brains work the same as yours. It’s literally a “gray area/borderline spoiler” comment because it immediately causes your brain to automatically brace itself for what’s to come therefore nullifying your unadulterated enjoyment of what’s to come.

Ep 11 is one of the ones that makes me dislike Jim. Yes, big b-day parties in a corporate setting is ridiculous, but it's a job perk they have. Jim loves to waste everyone's time all the time every day. But as soon as it's something he's not interested in and isn't about him, it's suddenly not worth doing.

Right .. I still think about Hardhome for whatever reason (as frequently as I think about the roman empire)... and I (retroactively) despise game of thrones. *honestly, GoT peaked with the episode where joffrey got his just desserts, and then it fell off a cliff as soon as tyrion left king's landing -- and from a pure story craft perspective, nothing beats the first season. The dragons gave the show its spectacle, but the 1st season gave it the fan base, and word of mouth, that started the fire across the globe.

After season 4 GRRM left the writer's room and without him around the two morons had no one to keep them on track (I have my doubts they even read books 4+5 and did anything more than a cursory glance at the notes for the final books) the show devolved into badly written fan fiction propped up by flashy but illogical battle sequences, smart characters acting stupid, cheap callbacks and unfunny d*ck jokes.
