Step into the Pitch Meeting that started the holiday classic Jingle All The Way! Subscribe for more Pitch Meetings: goo.gl/ho3Hg6
Arnold Schwarzenegger is mostly known for his action films, so it seemed liked a fun idea to have him star in Jingle All The Way, the 1996 Christmas movie in which every single scene ends in Turbo Man related violence! The movie is considered a holiday classic by many, but critics absolutely hated it. The Sinbad/Schwarzenegger film definitely raises a lot of questions. Like why is Howard such a liar? Why DOES every scene end in violence? Why was there a warehouse filled with Santas? To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to JINGLE ALL THE WAY it’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!

I was pretty shocked when I saw Beethoven again, I had last seen it as a kid and had completely forgotten that the reason the bad guys want Beethoven is so they can test a new type of bullet on his skull and see how badly it will explode when shot at point-blank range... that's 90s family movies for you!

One of the greatest Christmas stories in all history. My brother watched a 24 hour marathon of this movie and back when we had VCRs he recored parts of it all over. So some scenes were replayed and some went on into later scenes. Like Arnold punched a reindeer 6 times in a row... which meant my brother waited each movie till that scene and hit record. It was genius and my brother was high playing WoW. Great times... great times...

I imagined a pitch like “How funny would it be to hear Arnold Schwarzenegger repeatedly saying, ‘Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen...’” “Very funny! Now how do we build a plot around that?”

In Germany the movie is called versprochen ist versprochen "A Promise is a Promise" (meaning you have to Keep your promises... I don't know if that is an existing idiom in english speeking countries 😅) Makes a lot more sense as a title for this movie

You forgot to mention the scene where Arnold, disguised as Turbo Man, talks to his kid, and the kid somehow fails to recognize his own father, even though Arnold has a heavy Austrian accent and his "mask" is just a narrow strip of transparent plastic. Seriously, how many muscle-bound Austrian men live in this town?
