I don’t think we are truly grasping how magnetic JJ overall aura is for ESPN, he will be the next face of ESPN

hmm idk I think he'd probably rather continue building his own empire than jump into ESPN, but it is cool to see him feature on stuff like this. We need more ppl like JJ in the NBA Media world

I love JJ since high school ESPECIALLY college one of my fave players in college I try to hate, but face of ESPN as much as I hate SAS I don’t see anyone taking that spot for him at least within the next 2 years

I see Smith in the way I saw Vitale in the not-at-the-end but late career, where you could tell he was leaning heavily on catch phrases and persona. It's good to have NBA guys come in and just be solid, knowledgeable, experienced voices. I'm also thinking about Perk right now, who everyone also loves to watch. And this is free money for these guys, because you can imagine them having these same conversations in locker rooms or bars. They breathe this game.

Love this! You can see how JJ is a basketball mind and very detail-oriented. Most of his shots, even with great difficulty, is expected to go in. Those highlights show his discipline and body of work. Huge respect for JJ.

I am hard pressed to think of an athlete who I went from despising to liking more that JJ. His podcast and his ESPN work made me realize he is a solid dude. He gives great insight in to basketball, is funny and self deprecating and just gets good conversations. The Old Man and The Three is must listen.

@Jake Bake Wow really? Tebow is a great addition to the debate. All due respect but Vince played parallel to Reggie and that whole Texas run went totally under the radar until they took down USC because USC was one of the most famous college teams ever. The most famous I can remember from shear celebrity status.
@kylek7748

@Jake Bake college wise Tebow was definitely up there but I don't really think Vince Young was quite to that level. I'd argue and say Matt Leinart was more popular than him despite the outcome

@Jake Bake That's true after the Rose Bowl. I guess I'm thinking for Reggie & JJ, their rides captured the nation's consciousness that only really Tebow, Cam, Zion, Johnny, and a few others have come close to replicating.

I'ma born and raised Louisville Cardinals fan at that time we was in the Big East but its really hard to explain how big J.J Reddick was... I mean there was a Kevin Durant at Texas, Blake Griffin at Oklahoma, Michael Beasley, Kevin Love obviously others but 3 of the players i mentioned dropped 30 point 20 rebound games, sometimes regularly... but J.J in the college world, at Duke, was like the prodigal son! Also When he mentioned his #4 jersey sells i literally laughed out loud cus I made my dad buy me a BLUE & black #4 J.J jersey and that thing has since disappeared but I was a true fan of this dude and still am. Its always great when your already a fan but the personality matches up, great guy!
