Joe Lindner’s death is nothing other than a tragedy. Whenever someone as young as Joe passes away, it forces those of us who are still here to question why something so terrible can happen and forces loved ones to have to deal with the loss for the rest of their lives.
By all accounts Joe Lindner, or Joesthetics as he was know to his followers, was a caring young man who was passionate about fitness and was in it to help others. Sadly, that is a rarity these days. He was a postiive member of the community and one whose presence will be deeply missed by many.
I put together this video after thinking about what I could add that hasn’t already been said.
I believe in every moment of sadness and great grief, there is an opportunity for growth and change.
I hope you’ll take the time to listen so I can express my thoughts about how the fitness community as a whole can come together and make the change that would, at the very least, allow for something positive to come from what is truly truly a tragic and sad situation for all.
Jeff Cavaliere MSPT, CSCS served as both the head physical therapist and assistant strength coach for the New York Mets. Jeff earned his Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s of Physioneurobiology from the College of Health Sciences University of Connecticut Storrs. He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

I died right after seeing my mom at the age of 22 for over 8 minutes from a heart condition called Long QT syndrome and is nicknamed Sudden Death Syndrome because healthy kids and adults suddenly drop dead with no warning. I was in the front page newspaper in my county for surviving and every school in my area started putting defibrillators after this happened to me. If I was dead another minute I would of had permanent brain damage, two minutes past that I would not be able to be revived at all. I was very lucky that it happened at a coast guard station at a class for college. I wasn't supposed to be there but the college didn't have room and held class there instead. The coast guards gave me CPR which wasn't working and no defibrillator was in the entire station and so they ran to the ship nearby which no defibrillator was on that ship either but by some miracle a second ship pulled in with a defibrillator and that was enough to jump start my heart. If this would of happened in the college I would be dead because the college didn't have defibrillators until after this happened to me. I don't remember the next two weeks after. It's all a blank but that happened almost 10 years ago and now I'm doing great health wise

That early age trauma you talk about is real, at least in my case. I was beaten up and mugged by 4 18 y.o. bullies when i was 14. No one, parent or other, had ever laid hands on me before that. I took it as personal insult. Since i hate fighting, i made it my goal to look a certain way to send a message to everyone that you are better off not to mess with me. Training with weghts was the answer. At 48 now, after 34 years of bodybuilding, always clean of PED's, always proud of my progress and my journey, i can look back in joy of what i have done, how much it helped me with personal discipline and character building and testify in favor of your message. Thank you!

I believe Jeff sincerely feels and believes this message and is a good guy, but I would like to see him use his brand of 13 million plus to actively support that. Many videos and many of his programs he sells right now have images and connections or endorsements from ped using celebrities and figures. Website has many images showcasing Arnold and Stallone, Antonio brown and t Fletcher painting an image of these physiques being attainable with these products. Marketing to look like bane or wolverine… I get it, it sells, so here’s a chance to bring in drug tested clients and natural trained celebrities instead of linking your product with images of known ped users creating that link in young kids minds like the supplement industries do in the magazines of mr Olympia drinking some protein flavor and letting kids draw their own conclusions. Just cause you don’t talk about steroids doesn’t mean you aren’t benefiting from their use

I'm neurodivergent and I've been on ( Psychiatric prescribed) drugs on and off long term ( for years) since I was 20....I know the side effects for myself ( weight gain being a current one) and I sit in a peer support group with so heavily medicated they don't actually know if they are alive. Numb, zoned out, and battle side effects. Some of my peers have physical illnesses that are uncurable and the drugs are actually keeping them alive but their quality of life is significantly reduced. I'm coming off my anti-psychotic sedating mood stabiliser and it's been a battle...I had to take 12 weeks off in March because my whole body and brain started to shut down. This and I weaned off the medication monitored closely by my doctor and mental health staff. As a recovering perfectionist, I have to tell myself to take the L not for loss but for limit and there is nothing wrong with having a limit.I feel sad when we lose people suddenly with no warning. One of my mental health peers is in the hospital right now because she reached her limit and went over. Sometimes there is nothing we can do but cherish those who are still around, keep a memory alive of those who have gone and keep trying to live our best longest life possible as a tribute to those who didn't make it this far. I didn't know much about Joe as I'm 40's but from what Jeff said, his star surely burned brightly! I hope to live as long as Jeff. In 1993 I just started high school.

@@aaronbarlow4376 Actually studies show that Millenials and Gen Z is not following that. Thanks, largely, to the rising costs of home ownership pricing a lot of people out of trhe market even with decent paying jobs. Once you have a house and family you trend towards more conservative views as you get older, it has nothing to do with 'knowledge and wisdom' and a whole lot to do with financial security. Also the OP didn't mean 'conservative' in political views, he wished he hadn't pushed himself so hard when he was exercising aka 'being conservative'. I can speak from experience, I'm 39 now but back when I was in my 20s I pushed myself to do weight lifting but I never bothered to get a coach to show me proper lifting form, which fucked my back up something fierce after a while but eased off up until 2 years ago my back started giving me havoc, if I so much as twisted in a funny way when I slepted I'd wake up with a trapped nerve that I'd have to spend time working loose again in the mornings and combine with painkillers otherwise I couldn't even bend down to tie my shoelaces.

Brother, My dad too went through the same situation…..When my younger brother has born who is 11 years younger to me. My dad was in the psychiatric ward when my mom was in maternity ward for delivery in the same hospital. I do remember visiting dad and mom in different wards in the same hospital and I was around 11 years at that time. One of our family friend took my dad to church prayer fellowships and fasting prayers. Jesus cured my dad and then he worked as a manager in a bigger company and retired 7 years ago and now leading a peaceful life serving Jesus Christ. I don’t know if you would accept what I’m saying but I felt like I should tell you this as I would be the happiest in the whole world if I could be of any help directing you to the right path. Jeff, I think this is the best video you've ever made. There were moments when I wondered if you take or have taken PEDs. Not because your physique isn't attainable naturally, but because it's so much more likely. It's the easier route, that I see almost everyone taking. Everything you said, resonated with me. My story started as a 14yo. My dad, a Kinesiologist, started helping me train in the basement. Bench press, and curls, that was it. Then at 15 I joined a gym. Now looking back, as a 38yo man. Having trained for 24 years. I can look in the mirror and think to myself: "this is me, I did this". Many years ago I competed in 2 bodybuilding shows. I was surrounded by people using steroids, and selling them too. For the untested show, I took clenbuterol for 2 weeks. I dipped my toe in the world of PEDs because the pressure of looking good on stage was huge. In a posing suit in front of all those people. Social media must be horrendous, that small taste was enough for me. I see the people every day. The people who decided to take shortcuts, and stayed on that path. Sometimes it makes me frustrated. They're getting all the attention, all the likes. And here I am, in the trenches for almost a quarter century. Putting in work, and looking exceedingly average by today's standards. Maybe when I'm 70, still kicking butt and looking great, people will start to notice. But it doesn't really matter. None of this was ever for anyone else. It's always been for me. Even this, what I'm writing. This is for me.
@limitisillusion7
@limitisillusion7 Жыл бұрын
It's so easy to look at these other people and get desperate to have what they have. I was lucky enough to never get bitten by that bug. There's larger problems at work here than just PEDs. Our insecurities are eating us alive. Maybe we don't get the female attention we see others getting, or we aren't building as much muscle as the people around us. I think the biggest problem is our divergence from natural whole foods and the accompanying effect on our gut microbiome. I'm a vegetarian mostly, and I eat very healthy. I never gained muscle particularly fast either on this diet. 10 years ago in high school, I ate like crap, but I gained muscle much faster. I think it's because my diet was more anabolic then with almost no fiber. To my surprise, my testosterone is pretty high now, and I definitely credit my diet. I also bet that my testosterone was in the dumps 5-10 years ago when my diet was crap. We need to encourage the natural path, and quit getting so distracted by these unnatural shortcuts. TRT is a bandaid for a bad diet. PEDs are worse yet. It's my belief that if your body is prepared for high testosterone, it will make it itself. Low testosterone in a body that doesn't create it naturally is evidence that the body isn't operating correctly. I don't want to pretend I have everything figured out, but diet and how it translates to health is one of the few things I do know well.

Stuff like this is why you're often my go-to. It's about health, confidence, stability, sustainability, and ultimately positive lifestyle changes. The inherent narcissism of gym and influencer culture is so damaging, and listening to guys give Ted talks about efficient PED use is bordering on disgusting. Thanks for all you do.
