Song is a mix of reggae, rock, and country music. I first heard this song around 1978 when I was in high school. I didn't understand why I liked it so much back then. Jump forward 45 years and I can say it was this mix that so many other artist didn't put together. This right here is art.

Joe Walsh is the quintessential example that you don’t have to sing like Robert Plant, shred like Hendrix, or be perfectly stylized like Axel Rose. Just play from the heart, sing with attitude and be real- being a Rock n’ Roll beast is only a state of mind. This guy is the blueprint!

Anyone who can play this good and sound great while being stoned out of their mind has to be an extremely talented performer. The Professor Walsh is definitely one talented performer. If you look into his eyes on a couple of those close ups you can tell he is jacked up pretty good! I watched an interview where he talked about the time he eventually got sober. He said he just got to the point where he couldnt do it anymore, he was basically wore out. So he decided it was time to clean his act up. He definitely did a great job getting sober and still keeping his sense of humor. You gotta love his sense of humor. There aren't many like him and that's ok! Joe is unique and I think we would all agree we like him the way he is. Someone else acting like Joe just wouldn't seem right. Rock on Joe!!!

@@whocares3591 Oh yeah, your right!! That's totally true! Dr Hook always seemed totally stoned. I was watching a video where they all had that same look like Joe. Plus the extreme amount of sweating. Sure one could argue it's due to the lighting, and playing, but I suspect the added fact of being stoned helped it along a bit. Plus their song "Cover of the Rolling Stone", they pretty much admitted to "taking all kinds of pills, that give us all kind of thrills". They were able to get clean as well, and live to be quite old. Some of them are still alive. I think Ray Sawyer died at 81.

Totally a true icon and musical STAR! ⭐⭐⭐ The mid/late (67ish) 60's to the start of the 80's were hands down the best era for music. Not just rock either. Motown was awesome, country had actual story lyrics, the whole psychedelic rock/hippie style, and SO many awesome rock artists.

I have fallen in love with Joe Walsh's music. His talent is off the charts! I knew his songs but one night I watched the "Hell Freezes Over" concert on AXS. I was mesmerized when he played his music. He is amazing with the guitar. Much like BB King his guitar is like a part of his soul. Glad he is sober! I know the life of living and loving an alcoholic and what they go through. My alcoholic did not make it. He would have dug Joe's music....💜

This is my all time favorite song. Love the Beatles, Stones, Walsh, Hendrix , you name em' I love em', but whenever I hear this song. I always stop, turn it up and sing along. Absolutely Great F!@#$%^& Song. " I can't complain, but sometimes I still do" Absolutely Great Line !
