John Deere X590 Original Tractor Cab

I just got done installing the Original Tractor Cab on my John Deere X590 tractor. I added several accessories to the tractor and cab. If you have any questions, please post below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I pulled the trigger on a Original tractor cab yesterday for my JD 2025R and then found your video. Your modifications are exactly what I would like to do as well. I never thought of making an overhead console to hide and distribute the power. Thanks for putting out great content

Great video Nate! Disappointed that you haven't posted a follow up video after 3 years. I have an X580 and am considering the OTC enclosure with a similar accessory setup. Can you please post an update and indicate if you found anything that you needed to alter, added anything else for snow removal? Is everything still holding up well for you? Thanks!

Thanks for the video! Great options! My head hurts when I see that strobe stud, I’m 6’2 and can’t do that probably. I just received a cab from Original Cab (very nice people). I have an X575 with a Model 40 loader. They said it will fit and I’m crossing my fingers 🤔 Loader is my snow remover. Part numbers would be great from Amazon. Nice job!

have you needed to replace the belts on your snowblower I assume you have a 47-in snow blower on that if so could you give some tips on how you did that seems to be some issues regarding that belt replacement as to the keeper being on the main pulley and whether or not you need to take the whole thing apart thank you

I have not needed to replace the belt yet, however, you will have to pull the two pulley assemblies to do so (the two on the snow blower) also known as the tensioner pulleys.

GRRR , I ordered the Original Tractor Cab and for my x370 and they are on backorder until 1/25/21 . Guess I will have to blow snow without cab and get snow all over me . I could order the JD Cab for actually lot less money and they do have in stock . But I will probably wait for the OTC Cab . Going to be a cold winter blowing snow with no enclosure .

JD makes two cabs.. a $600 vinyl and the full blown steel/glass $6,000 for my X738... I bought the OTC for $1,500. Added a JD heater that runs off the engine anti-freeze, but with all the holes and no-insulation, I still have to wear my parka and gloves, but at least I can talk when I stop to talk to someone. But I live in MN and -20 is too cold for the heater. But the OTC is good enough for now, at least I'm out of the wind..

Question , The Genius battery port tender did that snap right in or did you have to fab it , and would you have the part # , Beautiful Tractor and your work into it

I did not have to fab. I popped out the punch out blank where you would put the auto shute switch in and bought the port for the charger. The charger is: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LX3AXQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What’s with the cab not including the glass? It would come with just 3 big holes?

I'm looking forward to replacing my GT235 (54" deck, 700+ hours) and GT245 (42" snow blower, Curtis Cab, 430 hours) with an X590 plus 54" deck, 47" snow blower, and similar cab (Curtis or Original) in the near future, and going the "single tractor" route. I was wondering about the overall height and I appreciate your answer below. How difficult is the deck-to-blower transition in the fall and vice-versa in the spring ?

With the original cab, the height is just over six feet. In terms of the ease of transitioning, its super quick and easy. There in no tensioner spring that needs to be adjusted. Everything can be done with one person, however, the deck is quite heavy. Curtis does not make a cab for the X500 series tractor. This is the only full hard top cab you will find for this.

Good review on the cab if I get a similar tractor I’ll follow your r your lead ; one note I called cab manufacturer and they don’t recommend running the cab without the doors on because it will loosen up welds ; they do offer screen doors if you wanted to run it year-round and keep the integrity of the cab. Is that 74 inches with the strobe? My garage opening isn’t as high as I’d like but want to do the same with my 590. Also I see how it attaches in the rear. Any issue putting 4 suitcase weights on with the cab attached?

@@jazzmcs1 74" is without the light. The cab mounts using existing holes in the frame of the tractor. It does not at all interfere with the suitcase weights, and I carry four with no issue.
