Great video, can you make a video deeply explaining how to use burst speed practice? I’m trying to implement it on my practices because I used the old school stuff, like playing until it was perfect and then adding 10 bpm and the cycle repeats.I found burst speed practice really interesting and I looks really helpful!!.

Yeah for sure i will dedicate a video to this approach soon. thanks for watching and the suggestion :D

try to increase your speed out of metronome tempo in a short time , it doesn't matter if it's out of tempo because the goal here is the speed, after that go back to your comfortable speed. trust me your speed will improve. don't think too much about the note clarity , get the speed first :D

Hollow Years is an all-time fav. You can't deny he's a great flatpicker too though.

He's a legend in so many ways. I wanted to focus on his alt picking pentatonics in this video tho :)

those 2 note per string loops are the hardest. I wouldnt probably use them soloing live haha, but i practice them to strengthen my alternate picking

Guitarists who actually practice and preach technique have the ability to create endless content because the guitar is so easy to pick up and yet so easy to play poorly. I wish I had started with a metronome and a disciplined approach when I started, but I did in college and have never looked back.

I think Paul Gilbert is the best alternate picker personally. Petrucci is still one of the greats though.

see if you can play it higher up on the neck where the frets are smaller: you could add 7 to each Tab number to easily transpose it up to A Minor. then, overtime, start to play it lower until you get the flexibilty. Hope that helps :)

@woodybowen53626 ай бұрын
Shawn is quite possibly the GOAT.
@fulltimeguitar6 ай бұрын
Shawn Lane might very well be the GOAT. A lot of guys were doing stuff in the 80s that hasnt been matched since IMO
