Hey, great to hear a Hebrew word, an added extra great thing to learn from you! I’d love to hear more, perhaps the more basic words like pigment and water? It also reminds us subtly just how well you speak English. I think I speak my second language (Italian) as well as you do, and I’m only 50% with French. And don’t forget that Watercolour is definitely another language you are fluent!

Haha, I’m actually thinking about making it a thing. Like Hebrew word of the day 😂 We’ll see about that!

Enjoyed all the information you share that helps an artist face the painting with more courage or "know how" . Sometimes you as a teacher have no idea how helpful you are pointing out the basic steps. It helps so much like painting the negative spaces around the boats make the boats pop. Your videos are so full of valuable information.. Thank you love the artist Yardley also . Interiors are new to me and something I'd love to try. Also the painting where the people are standing at the store fronts. The man holding his coat with the white shirt gives a feeling of it being a hot day. Paintings do a lot to our emotions. I enjoy your selections what you decide to teach us. Thank you LIron.

Thank you so much 😊🙏🏼 You are right, for me it's hard to know what's helpful from all the things I say (and I talk A LOT haha). So I try to be as elaborate as possible. I'm really happy it helps!

Really enjoyed this video - loved the way he captured the light especially in his interior paintings. Thank you for putting together this master series (masters that I didn't know even existed!) - beautiful work.

Haha I'm happy this helps you discover new artists (: It's amazing how many good ones are out there. I also loved his interiors. Haven't seen many of these done in traditional watercolor. It's brilliant.

I'm so glad you introduced me to John Yardley. His approach is like no other artist I've seen. @10:13 I had a heart attack! Just before I started watching, I'd spent an hour clearing out my hard drive lol!

Haha, because of the volume increase?? If so - sorry about that! It's so random at times =P

The lamp is called “chandelier”. Hi there, Liron! 😊 I always learn something new with you. Thanks for taking the time to make all of this videos, I know it takes a lot work and effort. Don’t ever stop,💜 Ambar

I so appreciate these master painter highlights! I don’t think any current YT artists do this in addition to attempting to replicate it. This is wonderful art history (which I love!) and also a great practice lesson on the various styles and techniques used by historic artists. Thank you Liron! Please continue with these wonderful videos.

John Yardley is a very experienced artist. Something to note is how far back he holds the brush when painting to achieve such a loose, easy and free style of painting. His style of getting the tone right first time is similar to Jake Winkle, who is much younger. John is quite elderly now. At 6:59, the lamp is known as a "chandelier". I can't even pronounce the Hebrew word. :P Is Hebrew your first language, Liron? If it is and if English is your second language, it is not obvious at all because you speak perfect English. :)
@LironYan6 жыл бұрын
I knew that word! And I knew I'd forget it when it matters the most haha. Hebrew is my first, and English my second. Thank you 😊🙏🏼 Also looked into Jake Winkle. Amazing to see that same approach with very different subjects, in a more "modern" style of painting. I love both.

I think that building was Paddington Station in London. Love some of his work here, the calligraphy and subtle colours. There was a vase or urn that had about as subtle a jade colouring as you could possibly get.

Yes, I know what vase you refer to! He's a genius (:

I really like this artist's style, especially the way he brings the light in and make it look so brilliant. Very uplifting. The examples of the negative painting and shading are also very good. There's also an impression of movement among the people and animals in the scenes, i.e., there's an excitement and busyness in the street scenes. Your recreation of the last painting was very interesting. I would also like to see a further video of your process on this one. Thanks again for a great review. I enjoyed it very much.

Thank you ^_^ It's amazing seeing the difference between his work and mine. He has such more finesse 😛 But I'm still happy with it. You can expect the full process to be out in a week or so.

That sunlit interior looks amazing. Also, love the comment about circular eye motion - I thought I was looking around the painting, then you pointed it out and really nailed it. The angular shadows really help lead the eye 😯 Some insights on this one are very useful 👍

Thank you 😊🙏🏼 And by recreating it, you get to soak the wisdom even more. It really internalizes it. I especially learn new things about composition.

one of my favorite artists which i discovered from apv films is david howell. he is pure talent. the doesn't do pencil layout and his paintings are beautifully atmospheric. david curtis is also incredible.
@LironYan6 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love David Howell. He's one of the next artists I plan on covering here (; I actually learned a lot from his (very different) approach. David Curtis - I watched his vids but because it's oil I didn't try and learn more for now. But definitely an amazing artist as we'll. I loved his plain-air style. Is it just me or all of APV's artists / videos are highly addictive? 😛

He has watercolor videos too. He paints in a very different style. you're right those videos are addictive. i call them watercolor porn :D

i m confused! outside of using the bASICS OF GOOD ART, 'PERSPECTIVE, BALENCE, COLOR, DETAIL, ETC. IS THERE REALLY A RIGHT WAY TO PAINT WATERCOLORS? IS IT WHAT SELLS? OR WHAT TURNS YOUR CREATIVE DESIRES ON.
@LironYan6 жыл бұрын
Haha, that's a GREAT question. I think it's a combination of both. If you can find something you REALLY enjoy doing, and people seem to respond positively - that's the best case scenario 😉 And - there are probably endless ways of approaching the process itself. All valid.
