I was a SAHM with a 3 yo toddler and a newborn. When hubby returned to work, I was nervous bc there was no one else to help me. It was difficult. But I built routines so there was a rhythm in the day. Even had homemade dinner on the table when hubby came home. Looking back, I should've given more to myself: breaks, alone time, group time with other moms, asked family to help out even if it meant traveling 40 mins to my house, more kid play dates, less worry about mess, etc. I gave much more than what came in. I kinda forgot about myself.

Absolutely. Less than. Nothing. The shithole I just left is forcing employees (we're consultants and administrative project managers and all that) to justify their existence on a weekly basis via "utilization" metrics - essentially how many hours have you billed clients this week, and if it was light this week (because at any time our clients can have a sick day or have something else to do or any number of things) you'd get fired. My relationship with any given manager had less than zero impact on whether or not I'd have a job the following week. Manager seeing you at the coffee pot just isn't a thing that even matters when that manager isn't the one pulling strings, and it happens at C-Level in some other office in some other state.

I also want to say it gets easier as they age. They start playing more with each other and doing more. But those first years are about survival. Lack of sleep, no way to do it all and do it all well. Prayers for the sweet and overwhelmed family. Both of them probably feel like they are failing, but they aren’t. They are trying to get through this best they can. It will be worth the perseverance. Won’t be easy, but a better season is ahead when all of the kids sleep at night. Also lowering expectations of how the home should be and look right now.😊

My husband and I both work from home full time. We quickly learned through COVID that we needed separate office space to get work done. We also have an unspoken agreement that we leave each other alone during the day and catch up after work. We only interrupt to say something quick (hey the mortgage guy is asking for a copy of your DL) or to ask if we are ready for a break to go walk the dogs. That's it. We work 10 steps from each other, but act like we are in the office.

OF is no different from anything else in life. It is just another slit in somewhat niche market. Takes no skill, so barriers to entry are non-existent. It would make me feel awful too, because the lack of funds in my account is showing that I’m not valued. Even in this dark and twisted way. Just imagine all the boundaries you would have to push with yourself to make money on the platform, while looking yourself in the mirror everyday. I’m sure there are women on the platform that have a following basically doing JC Penney type ad work and never have to be fully nude. What the platform doesn’t inform you of is that there’s levels to OF. Two people can be doing the exact same thing and one person makes $100 and the other person makes $10.

I agree 110% on the challenges of working at home and separating home life and work life. Even though I can work from home a few days per week, I am lucky and live near the office and there are definite benefits to working there. Quieter, more adult interaction, and ability to concentrate on work. I really like the days when no one comes into the office as well as I can get a ton done without interruption. The pressures to help around the house when working at home is huge and you dont want to let your spouse or kids down. But you also have a clear obligation to your employer to put in an honest days work. I love my wife and family, but I also enjoy my work and the different satisfaction it provides (and the paycheck!)

Jenna, we love you! You are loveable! The only one who won't forgive you is you. And your robbing the rest of us the experience of you at your best because you carry this shame. And you fear that it will follow you. It probably will some. But that's the risk you took during your vulnerable moment of life. And it's giving you an opportunity to realize you felt vulnerable and curious about an opportunity that seemed lucrative and tempting so you took it but realized it wasn't for you so you walked away like a mature adult. You actually handled it really well. A lot of people stay for the money and cope with other addictions because it turns their tummies. But you faced the discomfort head on and got out of the life - no easy feat! And now look how far you are coming! A nurse! What an incredibly generous and caring choice! You have so much to look forward to! Don't hold yourself back with regret over this. You can't change it. Poisoning yourself with shame will only make your future more difficult to achieve. So take the lessons you garnered from it - about yourself, your soul, and the world. Forgive yourself by recognizing the value of those hard earned lessons. And move forward armed with the fact that you'll know better than to try things that far out of your comfort zone next time you feel vulnerable to understandable economic temptations. You are clearly smart enough to figure out that's not the lifestyle you want and brave enough to change and move your direction away from that. You got through it. Stop raking yourself over the coals - because the only one you burn doing that is yourself. You're not scarfed for life. Even Monica Lewinsky got on with her life and she was the most recognizable blow job in the nation for at least a couple years. You're wise enough to listen to your soul when it got uncomfortable with OF. Score! Take that wisdom and apply it the next time something similar seems tempting so you can avoid the future shame that you don't deserve. For being human. Forgive you. And bless yourself with a life focused on the positive things you contribute to as a barber and a nurse. There are plenty of people in your shoes. I bet you aren't alone. Find those folks to find comfort with. Is there like an Ex-OF Gals support group? You've already redirected your path you just have to continue honoring yourself for the new choices you're making now. You are worth every step forward into the life you want. I celebrate that 🎉❤🎉

The third caller comment: It’s really sad that they are making fun of a 26 yr old needing a roommate. It’s easy to say for the people who are deeper into life and are better able to take care of themselves but this economy is relentless to young kids just graduating high school or college and not making the salary they will in the future. Rent is at an all time high (around Tampa, FL) and it’s completely unrealistic for these young twenties kids trying to make it off the ground. It’s sad.

For the first woman, she did it, can't change it. BUT she didn't do it forever or long term, so I dont couple her with the likes of those who do it as a profession or to be a free spirit. The fact she acknowledged early on that she wasn't happy and stopped it shows and should show to anyone that she does recognize a bad idea, situation, or mindset. I would entertain dating her, so long as other personal aspects aligned, personality likes and hobbies etc. We do stupid things all the time, especially when we hit a rough patch, and holding it over our head won't help, even if others do it to us. And today, young men but men in general need to accept that there are women they meet to date who have done it, but permit or accept a certain time stamp of participation. A few months means nothing compared to some who spend years. Otherwise, the hope for a truly clean woman is going to be difficult and a long wait.

To Taylor... It's time to rent an office space and hire a nanny to help your wife. This is going to ruin your marriage if you keep it up for much longer.

I just love how he assumes your relationship with your boss somehow effects your employment. Your job is a transactional business and you should always treat it as such. Always keep another role in the pipeline and never get too comfortable. Your life means more than your job.

For the work at home dad from Boise: Public Libraries are free and quiet places to work, it could save the office rent money for that babysitter or housekeeper to help your wife.

I tried ❄️ for almost 2 years, a guy I was dating and I was so infatuated with pressured me into it. I never thought I would do that. I used to be super against it before he came into my life. I got off of it after I finally cut things off with him for good. But that’s something that violated who I thought I was and morals & principles I thought i had. I had to drop everything and re-learn who I am after that. Definitely lost 2 years of my life being in a fog and having low self esteem and self worth and losing my dignity behind men

1. Stop beating yourself up. I agree, not the best thing to do for a few reasons. I’m sure many start and realize it’s not for them. 2. My husband works from home. He’s a high level tech engineer, and also constantly improves his skills and further certifications (or forget the better paid jobs or jobs at all 😂). When he’s working it’s work. He makes his lunch, coffee, etc and during work hours I clean up after (he cleans up after himself when outside of work hours) I will bring him food etc if it’s a very busy day. The guy does need to do his part as a father after work hours because mom gets no “time off” until the kids are older. So they need a system. It may be too late if he is getting poor Reviews. 😮 so yeahhhhh, y’all need to grow up. 3. Check tenant laws in your state before you do anything. Put everything in writing.

I have a new birn at home and the days where I work from home, I get about 5 hours of work done compared to the 8 I need to. There are too many distractions at home. Go to work if possible.

Aw Jenna, I hope and pray you truly realize your worth is in your uniqueness, in your humanity, in the beauty of your heart and soul in how God made you. Good for you girl!!! And take heart, nothing is cemented damage here. Your integrity shines through so brightly. I applaud you big time. I had shame over some past things and for me, what helped was growth and knowing Jesus has lifted all my shame. You're a beautiful soul Jenna! xo

A mistake was something you did without intention; A bad decision was made intentionally often without regard for the consequences.
