Thanos has been interested in killing people since childhood when he met lady death. The part of him telling the council to kill half the population was a proposal he said when the government couldnt help the entire planet. Thanos is about death and his brother is of life. The only problem with Avengers AOU was that it was as mediocre as the first movie, they just didn't realize it yet. (It actually took me watching The Avengers three times to think it was a good movie because people hyped it waaay too much. Studios invest so much in PR and immersion advertising, and so little in screenwriting and post production that there's a real problem with managing expectations. But I feel like, lately, the pendulum is swinging back.)

When the flood waters begin falling, Noah urges people to change thier ways and get on the Ark. Everyone ignores him and continues to laugh at him. Everyone else proceeds to die in the great flood which was said to encompass the entire earth. It was honestly incredibly fascinating how philosophical and borderline biblical they made Ultron. It sets him apart from the typical world/city/universe domination driven villains we see 98% of the time. He wasn’t perfect, he suffered from a few too many quips, and I never liked the metallic humanoid lips/eyelids (although I get why they wanted his facial expressions to compliment his personality)… but honestly, I still believe he’s one of the top 5 best MCU villains we’ve ever had!

The main problem with him is that he wasn't threating especially when comapred to his comic book version, not to mention, he's relationship with Tony pales in comparison to Ultron's relationship with Pym in the comics Especially when it's comes to deepness and complexity as well as depth in story telling.

I would have loved, 'with the benefit of hindsight' to having seem more implication of Ultron being aware of Thanos (given that Loki possessed the mind stone from Thanos himself) so that lines like that more directly foreshadowed Thanos. They have a deeper connection than say Tony and Peter because without Tony Peter is still Spider-Man. But without Wanda and Pietro Ultron would not have been created. Ultron realizes this and wants to show his family how grateful he is. He could have chosen a better place to make his meteor than their home country but I mean hey he lost his family and his new body. But even in his last few moments he expresses concern that Wanda could die and that's something I don't think he ever actually planned on for her.

That or they just try to squeeze everything in a single movie which is normally a terrible idea. the thanos arc was much better when it comes to this imo although it was really messy and the whole time machine thing was a cliché. i mean how many times (no pun intended) has sci fi touched this already. endgame was very disappointing
