John sure did love June. When she was in the hospital, practically a vegetable (in a coma), Johnny would sit by her side and talk to her, read to her and sing to her. When they were going to take her off of life support, John formed a prayer circle and prayed for her. When she passed, he had her picture painted on the walls, he would stare at them. He would sit at his desk and talk on the phone, imagining June was on the other end. That's true love if I've ever heard it

@@waretafaiwell, I have it on good authority that the world actually was a whole lot simpler in 1967, than it is today. But seeing as you misinterpreted my comment, with your pessimistic Outlook, I would say wishing you a good day would be a waste of time.

@reubenj.cogburn8546 not only are you wrong about simplicity of the time, but you somehow interrupted what I said as pessimistic. +Richard Marshall Bowman Yeh greatest love story ever................apart from the fact that Johnny Cash got with June while he was still married and then abandoned his kid, or that he had numerous affairs never mind the fact that he got Junes sister Anita pregnant and made her have an abortion. Not what I'd call a love story, then again that was never going to make into the biopic movie they made about him.
@marigremistaforever2
@marigremistaforever2 8 жыл бұрын
+McShave the point of the movie was the truly love between him and June, until June's death, where she died while Johnny was holding her hand. Yes, he sinned and made a lot of mistakes, as also she did, but the love between them was uncontestable, and they overcame all the obstacles to be together until their last days.

Out of all of the older artists Johnny Cash is probably the most widely known to the current generation. My parents raised me on this stuff so I have a great mix! I'm not a fan of the current "country" music played on radio today, but I love everything from the 50's to the early 2000's. Johnny and June, George and Tammy, Conway and Loretta, Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, Faron Young, Ray Price, Roger Miller, etc., etc., etc. I'm so thankful that my parents are a little older and have passed on their appreciation and love for real country music to me! I'm definitely not the typical 19 year old, especially when it comes to my taste in music. An old soul for sure! 😊

This song always reminds me when i go camping on my pop-up trailer, pulled by my dads 10 year old truck in manistee, Michigan. Johnny cash is all my dad listened to when we traveled to the campsite. Such fond and warm memories I will carry on to my own children:)

He is stoned out of his mind, roaming all over the stage the uncontrollable leg movements playing the neck of the guitar the whole time and the hollow look in his eyes but even still he is able to pull it off and give a great performance something that today's so called "country singers" couldn't do if they were sober and had 10 years of training. This is true country music.

Being from Nashville, this brought back memories of early-morning TV with Ralph Emery. Johnny, had Elvis-like qualities, as shown in his moves here. His boots spoke of the influence of the Fab-Four or vice-versa. He was a super-star in a country way that is down-to-earth and genuine. June also shows her singing and charismatic qualities in this video. An interesting couple to say the least.

This song couldn't explain me and my wife's relationship better. We have had crazy alcohol problems, got over them (just about) but we've always been crazy about each other. And we're moving to Jacksonville in two months(not Jackson I know😅 but close enough) can't wait to start our next chapter in life, and I'll be singing this on my arrival to Florida.

Johnny Cash doesn't get much credit for it but he was a wonderful guitar player. He kept it simple but effective. I love his sense of rhythm and his dead on timing. He was in the grip of his drug addiction during this time but somehow he always came off as professional and performed beautifully. Great clip!!

Johnny Cash was ridiculously cool. No wonder she fell head over hells for this man! Those shoes, that slick suit! That voice! Oh my. Go watch the video clip of Johnny Cash singing "Hurt" one of his last recorded songs. It puts a very rich (and overwhelming emotional) perspective on his life and work. June's in the clip too. She was still there, still so in love with this guy. What I love about the Jackson clip is they are so happy, so full of joy to be singing, to be with each other. Mwah! I could kiss 'em! Thank you, where-ever you two are now.
