How to change the temperature sensor on a BMW K75 (100). The sensor controls the fan but more importantly it controls the ECU for the fuel injection. Buy a genuine Bosch part not a cheap fake.

My Dad used to say buy cheap buy twice lol, I guess there's a lot of truth in that

You mentioned the water temp sensor that sends the signal to the fan which one is that and where does it sit? Thx for the videos, very informative.

That is the one in this video. It has two outputs - one for the ECU and the other to turn the fan on.

The fan sits right against the rear of your rad.

Hi My friend thanks for sharing such an experience. So sensor temp can give a wrong reading to cpu in such a way that k75 can even consume up to 8l/100km, as in my case?

Yes, you are right

new owner of 1988 K75. I noticed on your video and a few others that not all the warning lights come on with the ignition switch turned on, specifically the coolant temperature light. Is this normal for the K75s? I did a bulb swap and it still doesn't come on. thanks for your videos! Zac

This has just happened to me too after changing the oil pressure switch. The oil pressure light should come on when you turn the key to the ignition position. If the light does not come on it is one of three things - the sensor is not working, the bulb is not working or the wiring is not connecting the sensor to the bulb anymore. As you have changed the bulb you can test the circuit by disconnecting the sensor wire (down on the front of the front of the engine) and jump a wire from it to the earth points near the battery. If the bulb comes on it is either the wiring or the sensor. The sensors are cheap (£10 from Motobins) or you can try tracing the wiring back to the bulb - that is what I am in the middle of doing now.

Sorry to be off topic but... Bro, do you still have your Jag? I got a problem with my TPS and no mechanics or shops around me even want to touch it. Even the dealership here said they can't fix it. I been on the forums, I've talked to every mechanic and backyard mechanic I know, and I'm about to just get full coverage insurance on it, wait a week or two, then have a friend come steal it and set it on fire. 😡 Is there anyway I can get it touch with you for a minute to see if you can give me some kind of clue on what to do after I explain the problem? ✌️😑👍

I gave the car to my Dad and he lives next door. I haven't had to do anything with the throttle position sensor but I found this on the Jag forum. You can buy one from e-bay for £29 . www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/throttle-position-sensor-solved-138182/
