Clothing brand? As in a new better method of creating clothes? Or perhaps new cool clothing design? Creating digital designs on a blank clothing (clothing that you didn't even make) can't really be called a brand. Everyone is able to create digital designs (print on demand) & add them to clothes these days. Nothing distinguished about it. *A brand is a product, service or concept that is publicly DISTINGUISHED from other products, services or concepts so that it can be easily communicated and usually marketed.

Just started investing in my clothing brand and I already spent 400$, no garments included. ( shipping bags, tags, labels, domains, web host and so on) if you really want to launch a clothing brand you should be more realistic and prepared to throw them money at the beginning. 100$ may work (but I don’t think so) to launch but I’m sure it won’t get the sales or engagement you think. It will look cheap and go with al the fast fashion small brands that may die in 1-2 years. Just my opinion

I’m still waiting for all the tags and labels and everything to be shipped. But meanwhile I’m working to get the best materials and garments possible so it won’t be just another print on demand t shirt brand just looking for the money. My point is just be prepared to invest if you are really passionate and believe in your idea. Don’t look to make it as cheap as possible because it will look cheap and for that we already have shein and other fast fashion brands.

I am in clothing business since 2018, I would recommend start with maximum 3 different designs with 2-3 different products also choose maximum 2-3 different colors, start the game and keep checking how things are working.

Love the video! Quick question for John or anyone else in the comments. John mentions that when you have an LLC, the LLC technically owns the brand name. does that mean I would need to set up the LLC before trademarking the brand name? Same goes for a DBA i think?

That's a great question. From what I have read personally. I think it would be best to establish the trademark before getting the LLC. This will help to secure your ownership, rights and brand name as a one-of-a-kind entity. This ensures and secures the continuing growth of your business while being confident in knowing that your protected from theft and or misuse as you move forward with establishing that LLC.
