It really rubs me the wrong way how they got a whole renovation on their house for FREE! For their growing family and yet, Kate was complaining how she didn’t like it?? The audacity! Why couldn’t she be grateful? There’s so many families out there that get no help smh.

She's narcissistic. Type A and she claimed she was ignored as a child...smdh. You can't ignore a type A personality if you tried. Her tantrums may not have been catered to, and her mom probably didn't give on to all of her demands, and Kate sees that as ignoring her and having a bad childhood. I've seen this in personality in a former friend. If she wasn't getting 100% of everyone's attention 110% of the time, she thought claimed that no one truly loved her. It was exhausting.

Geez the way she cuts him off, interjects, and speaks for him. You can see the dynamic in that very first video ”how they met”. Jon was already irritated with her, and actually I don’t blame him. I remember when the show first started. I immediately felt kinda sorry for Jon. Kate scolded him nonstop, bossed him around, and just generally had a mean demeanor. That’s what I saw anyways.. lol.

Narcissistic people look for certain qualities in a person that they will marry. They want an agreeable and docile doormat, that doesn't mind being in the passenger seat. They go after quiet empaths that are okay with being controlled and bossed around.. for the sake of doing whatever is asked by the person they love. I do believe narcissists marry and get into relationships based on these qualities in a partner. I don't think they go for people that demand equal ground or a partner that insists on mutual respect or mutual compromise. They want to control and direct and they want a partner okay with them doing that I think alot of narcissists will marry purely for these reasons, regardless of physical attraction or any other connections to their spouse. If they feel they can be in control, that's what's important to them I've noticed narcissistic women in particular will treat their husbands like they are another child

I believe this is why John started to resent Kate. Because she begged him and demanded she had her way for another child and then…..he got 6. He started to hate her for her lack of respect and forcing him into things he didn’t want. Then as if he didn’t have a voice to begin with, she became a monstrous control freak even more. He had no life with his own family. It was sad. I think anyone saw this coming.

@@carolynfranklin1447 Excuse me...but when you borderline bully your own partner into impregnation, regardless of gender, that is wrong. She pushed him and pushed him until there was no backbone left in him. They ended up getting 6 babies at once due to her insistence on having another child. The man didn't stand a chance, since as clearly shown, she didn't even let him finish a sentence or answer anything without cutting him off or correcting him-on national television. imagine what a peach she must have been to deal with when the cameras weren't rolling. Your comment doesn't make much sense. I've watched their shows for over a decade, and it is very evident he was pushed into having another child -then she got pregnant with sextuplets. I can't even fathom having six infants and two very young kids at the same time -all while being bullied and steamrolled over by his own spouse on national television. The twins were born just short of their 1st anniversary 🤨 that is NOT my definition of infertility struggle! Sounds more like she didn't get pregnant on her honeymoon and immediately started fertility treatment. That's insane. I'm honestly surprised a doctor helped her that early... of wait, she was a labor and delivery nurse, that's right. She had a totally different experience than the rest of the world who experiences infertility. Most doctors need you to "try" for a year before they will give you a referral to see a specialist.

While I agree slightly the medical definition of infertility is a year or more of not being able to get pregnant. And it’s best to act as soon as possible. Doctors won’t treat you for infertility until at least a year. Most people should get pregnant within a few months. As someone who has infertility I kind of find it inappropriate to criticize anyone who’s infertile and their choices. Because it’s extremely distressing and traumatic. I’ve been TTC for over ten years. I’ve been through the cycle of grief constantly. From anger to sadness to acceptance and all over again. It was a emotional roller coaster. And it’s made worse that we live in a world where people pry and think they know what’s best about your reproductive health, unless you’ve been there you just wouldn’t get it. It’s not uncommon for the doctors to do multiples because it’s likely that most will fail and not work. And you’re paying cash. That’s the hardest part I experienced is infertility IS NOT COVERED BY HEALTH INSURANCE. It’s considered cosmetic. Like a unnecessary face lift or tummy tuck. My whole experience has been extremely traumatic and at times the worst moments of my life. After ten + years I’m just now kind of starting to actually accept it.

Babies get you positive attention. The way she spat out having felt ignored as the middle child, and fast-tracking her family life goals to get to babies as quick as possible, and then needing more right after the babies weren't infants anymore. My mother was the eldest of 6, and developed this weird mindset with her last three children. She couldn't let go of the sliver of positivity people would radiate at her newborn in public, you'd have thought they were cooking at her instead. Keeping lots of babies means lots of public attention, and landing a TV show must have felt like crack to Kate.

I used to watch their show when I was younger. Even back then before the scandal, I always found Kate to be overbearing and thought something was off about their relationship. I remember she used to always cut him off, talk down to him and boss him around. And for his part, Jon seemed absolutely checked out and over Kate. I was only twelve or thirteen at the time so I didn't have much nuance, but I do remember always not being fond of Kate and thinking their relationship seemed strained and loveless.

@@truebluewonderful1139 part 2 will cover all the scandals that occurred after they began the show. To give you a brief run down, not long after their show started rumors began circulating about their marriage. The media were betting they would not last because of the toxicity and how they treated each other on the show. In April of 2009, Jon was photographed with another woman while his wife Kate was on a book tour. It quickly went downhill from there. Part two will cover all of that, it’s a lot. The financial aspect of their life is a still a huge question mark for me. I understand needing extra help when you have 8 children under 3. But I don’t understand how the afforded their life beforehand. They were barely married, not making a ton of money, and did a few rounds of really expensive fertility treatments early on. They were 26ish when they had the sextuplets, and that was after doing fertility treatments to have the twins. Then they mentioned their savings depleting when Jon lost his job while she was pregnant with the sextuplets. How did they afford twins, more fertility treatments, & have “savings” still left to deplete while he was jobless?? Family money?? There just seems to be a lot of money available to them early on without explanation?

In my opinion she's controlling and always has been and I figure they probably still would have gotten divorced. Maybe I'm wrong and if I'm wrong I apologize but in my opinion no, the TV show had nothing to do with what happened they were already in the downward spiral when everything started. That is of course my own opinion. It was a emotional roller coaster. I’ve just now started accepting it. I could have gotten treated except I cannot afford 50,000$ + in one lump sum for ivf or other infertility treatments. It’s considered cosmetic. Like a tummy tuck which is insulting. And adoption is extremely corrupt and they’ll deny you if they just don’t personally like you and other petty things. Idk. I probably need therapy. And I am looking into my options with that.

I had severe PPD and I was also a gun shot victim bleeding out, but with only my husband to help I made sure our baby was cared for over myself. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

Same I don’t have kids but know so many people who had one baby and barely got help if any. They sign up for benefits but it a long waitlist along with the others who also need help so you’re fighting for resources. I know some people who had to give their kids to other family members until they got situated. Some don’t even have helpful family or friends they’re just doing alone the best they can

Yeah, I have PCOS as well and I have friends who have it too. We all have kids. Yeah I did have one miscarriage before I had my daughter. But I was fortunate enough to get pregnant about three months after my miscarriage. And I only did I have PCOS I also had multiple surgeries from ages 10 to my late 20’s. I’ve had number of cysts in fibroid tumors remove.. I even had 9 pound tumor behind my uterus and I had a myomectomy as well. I was still able to get pregnant and have a kid she makes it sound like PCOS is absolutely impossible and they didn’t even wait to try for a while. They went to get help ASAP. It was like she needed a baby now now now instead of trying a few things to help improve her fertility. For example, I stuck to a very anti-inflammatory diet. And that help regulate my period and I also have a bad case of PCOS as well. I did get pregnant after a few years. I don’t know the exact timeline, but it didn’t seem like they even waited a year.

He would be doing such valid things and she'd be mad that he wasn't doing exactly what she wanted him to. Like when i think Joel had to go to the bathroom and he took all 3 boys so they could go, she got mad that he 'disappeared' and didnt take the girls....as if he can have all 6 kids in the bathroom? Or in your example, he was distracting the kids so she could check out the presents and not have them spoiled. I always loved the episodes where you saw Jon having FUN with the kids when Kate was gone or on their little single days with the one on one moments. It's rare I saw Kate playing and having fun with the kids.

I know they didn’t plan on 6 kids but going through IVF, multiple births are a risk, and this woman is far from grateful for having the babies she wanted. People have donated, volunteered and a TV show remodelled their home to accommodate their large family and I’ve not heard one ounce of gratitude from Kate. Just whinging and complaining about the job that was done on the house, the volunteers having to stick to her regimental schedule. Her poor husband working and bringing in an income and still trying to participate in bathing the kids etc, good on him. He seems more reasonable than her. I’m sure she was happy for the TV show because she gets paid to stay at home and look after her kids. As an Aussie looking in on this, she does not deserve it. Kate seems to be very self centred. Expects everyone to help her because she had 6 babies. What about single mum’s that do it tough?Why is she so self entitled? I don’t know what it is about her Be that I dislike so much. I think it’s her ingratitude and arrogance. Thanks Be for another great episode ❤️

I have a hard time believing that Kate has PCOS. Not that everyone has all the visible symptoms, but she has very thick hair, no acne, no belly fat, doesn't even seem like her weight fluctuates, and she's still thin well into her 40s, which can be a struggle without PCOS. The McCoy septuplets were still getting a lot of attention at the time, and I suspect Kate was hoping for multiples. She seems to live for attention, and even if she "only" conceived 3 or 4, that would be extraordinary enough to make her a local celebrity.

I have to admit, I fall squarely on the side of you got yourself into this mess, good luck getting out of it. Then I remember the little kids didn't ask to be brought into this world this way and "Truman Showed" for the rest of their lives to put food on the table. I have always felt for the kids, never for Kate. Some for Jon, as he was so obviously bullied. I think people who sign up for fertility treatments should be forced to sign off on "selective reduction" which would reduce the incidents of (pardon my use of this phrase, but it makes me laugh and laugh) "f#ckeduplets" as it's too much and not natural at all. Not good for the babies as they are born too early with too many medical issues... not good for the mom... not good for society who wind up making circus/TLC freak shows of the kids. If they were really religious, they would have realized god gave them zero children... they were the ones who messed with god's plan. I will never understand religious reasoning when it comes to issues of infertility.
@betheecommentator
@betheecommentator Жыл бұрын
You know something that stood out to me, when they found out they were expecting 7 babies and were offered selective reduction. Kate immediately refused but Jon was on the fence. It was interesting to hear how Kate used religion and almost guilt tripped him into the decision to keep all seven babies. I’m not saying they should’ve reduced, I simply noted how to me if felt like spiritual manipulation to coerce him into agreeing with her. I don’t know why that stood out to me, but it felt wrong, in my opinion. I agree with you, TLC turned those babies, those innocent babies into cash cows.
@montyollie

@@betheecommentator All the TLC families with multiple children always talk about how god provided and miracles showed up when they needed them too. (Loved your footage about Kate needing paper towels and them "suddenly" appearing). BTW I was raised in a cult like form of catholicism and my mom was the same way. Always made us pray for things rather than try to acquire them through normal channels. Anyhow, what I was going to say was these families are full of the "feel good stories" where "god provided". There are thousands if not millions of stories where god didn't provide. Irish potato famine, any country where childhood diseases and poverty kill off youngsters. Even in today's generation when families with too many children can't support them, and so they turn to school lunch programs or community fridges or food banks. It's rampant. It's so wrong to imply that god provides. He doesn't provide more often than he does. So it seems to me.

Christians are raised being told biblical stories about God performing the miracle of giving sons (not daughters bec. ofc.) to sterile women: - he gave Saraï, wife of Abraham, a son despite her being past child bearing age - said son, Isaac, also had to pray for God to grant children to his infertile wife Rebecca - Rachel, Jacob's favorite wife, also had troubled conceiving and God answered with 2 sons - God also gave Anna a son: Samuel the prophet during King Saul and King David's reign, after she went to a sanctuary and begged to be made a mother - Elisabeth, in the New Testament, was blessed with a son too in answer to her prayers: John the Baptist. So, in modern (evangelical) christian minds, the whole point of marriage is to start a family. Infertility is akin to a curse, that needs to be "overcome" through prayers and efforts. That's why, christian couples are encouraged to go get their "miracle", aka get treatment. NB: Even though, said treatment is a negation of their pro-birth belief, that life starts at conception (instead of breath, according to the bible).

I got pregnant with twins, and one of them stopped at 11 weeks. I didn’t know before the appt where I found out both things at once. So, it’s weird being like I was expecting one baby and I have one baby, yet I’m sad and relieved at the same time about the other baby. It’s just a huge roller coaster of emotions.
