I had shingles over Christmas a couple of years ago when I was 54, which I thought was too young, but apparently not. I had it with the same nerve as Jon, but on the other side. I thought I had breast cancer so I was pretty delighted to only have shingles, but it did hurt like a bitch. Only medicine offered to me was gabapentin, and it did NOTHING!

I was 39 when I had the shingles. Youngest was 3 when he had the chicken pox. He played dot to dot with a permanent marker. Couldn't reach the one's on his back. So he came to me for help. He even numbered them. A week later I'm in the ER. I had the chicken pox as a child. It was shingles. I've had them 5 times since. I'm 62 now.

I had shingles flare up when I was around 18. I thought I had a bad case poison sumac I somehow picked up hiking. Thankfully I didn't get any other noticeable symptoms other than the bi lateral skin rash. However a mere 10mins under indirect sunlight caused the 2nd worst 2nd degree sunburn I've ever had. Take it from me and treat the sun as a instantly damaging laser any time you have been prescribed a medication that comes with an avoid sunlight, especially when you already have a rash covering half your back

Tbf I got shingles around 19 on my back and I never knew - I was just more depressed than usual until mom yanked my top up and sent me to the doctors 😂 I was pretty lucky that I didn’t feel it was that itchy (again, it just made me more depressed than usual, which I didn’t even know it could do) but it does linger. Didn’t have any treatment either, didn’t know there was any at the time 😂 Anyways, yep. Tmi!

Shingles is stress related? Never heard that before. I remember a friend of mine being diagnosed with it when we were both still at secondary school. If stress IS a factor maybe the other diagnosis of some kind of polyps in his bowel and having a section removed had something to do with it. I believe he's OK now, but at that time that lad could not catch a break.

I think stress just generally reduces the effectiveness of your immune system and all sorts of things can go wrong in your body. Some peoples hair fall out if they’re stressed. For whatever reason, as I get stressed, my mouth, tongue and gums breaks out in cuts. Not pleasant.

Laughing because my daughter got shingles at the age of 4. She had chicken pox at 3 months (which was terrible) and then the stress of starting school brought her out in shingles. I sent her to school thinking “it’s heat rash, she’ll be fine” and they sent her home saying “it’s impetigo, gross”. But the doctor confirmed shingles. She must be a really old soul.

It's impossible to make cardigans attractive. A garment which can easily be made in one piece is instead split down the front then rejoined by poking bits of plastic through holes. If your other garments had holes in them you'd throw them out or sell them to hipsters for ten times the price.
