I’ve learned, the first steps to painting clouds, (or anything for that matter), is getting over the fear of painting them! You have to LOVE how to learn how to paint them! “Hate” is a very strong emotion which can prevent you from ever being successful at painting! If you “hate” painting them, this means you probably hate “practicing” how to paint them too, which is the ONLY way to get better! I know, because I was YOU several years ago! Just keep watching videos, & learning different techniques, until you find what works best for you, then Practice, Practice, Practice!

Lovely looking clouds and thanks for the tutorial. I am starting my journey in acrylic painting and loved that you have so many great tutorials. I was an oil painter for many years but had to give it up because of becoming very allergic to the products I was using. But, I miss painting so much, and am going to give acrylics a good try!!! The one thing (and I certainly don't mean this in an insulting way at all...I know you are a fantastic painter) however; I personally liked the clouds better before you took the liner brush and did the curly cues or half cues!!! Just my own opinion, and I may be the only one on earth that feels that way~~! LOL!!! but, besides that, loved this demo and have saved it for future reference for sure and now I am off to watch other videos of yours as I really think you are great!!!

joni you are the best on clouds. i’ve never been able to do clouds and now i want to try. you are so great an artiest. the very best in showing what you are painting. i love to watch you. i’ve only been painting 2 yrs and i’m 89 yrs old. wish i had started yrs ago. i broke my neck 12 yrs. ago snd i can’t do much but try to paint. thanks so much for all your help.

Congratulations!! They are the most beautiful three-dimensional painted clouds I have ever seen! I notice that you can get a beautiful painting, even when you paint with your left hand. Of course, with the "sempre giovane" anything is possible. Thanks for posting!

Love the fact that you explained it!!! I’ve been trying to learn the tips. Most videos just paint and it looks easy but if you don’t know what they are doing with water or letting parts dry it’s a lot harder. Thank you

I have watched several people who have painted different things, but they give so much detail that I get lost. The way you show your colors, the brushes and every detail you explain it's so simple..anyone could understand. Others make it so difficult.
