I love the combo of muscular build with grappling skill. Just overall athletic strength is such a huge factor for learning, it can buy you enough time to figure out how to escape bad spots. More importantly it can be invaluable for injury prevention. Great vid Jordan.

Wassup Jordan, i was just listening to the latest podcast episode where you talked about mental health and you competing. I think you need to take your own advise of taking action regardless of how you feel, even when it comes to competition. I think you will realize that you can comepete and perform well even if you lack the motivation and feel bad. That is a way to take power back from the mental ups and downs. You might find confort in that challenge! Much love ✌🏻

Jorden sir one question (thats my confusion ) What category bjj's 50/50 guard?👉 option a. Close guard b. Open guard c. Half guard.
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Жыл бұрын
Half guard would be the closest but I view it more as a leg entanglement for leg locks than a guard. For example you wouldn't call the saddle a guard. But then there's single leg x which is a guard and also a leg entmenglmemt for leg locks. So it's kinda murkey.

I've got at least 8 rolls on the channel with blackbelts that I can think of. Plus a judo Olympian and sambo world silver medalist. I always get these comments, but I always seek out the best rolls for the channel. I live in a small town in Canada. There's not high level blackbelts flocking to my gym to film rolls with me for KZbin. I'll roll with anyone on camera but it can be tough to even ask anyone let alone blackbelts as many have said no. Takes an egoless blackbelt to say yes. Some have said yes, and then no after the roll was filmed 👎
@Watsondrolone
@Watsondrolone Жыл бұрын
As a student under Jordan, I can attest that he rolls elite level brown and black belts all the time and handles them with ease, his skill is at the most elite level, we are truly blessed to have him in such a small town. Anytime we have open mat with people that come from all over, he has never shied away from a roll and will ask anyone, regardless of skill level. These are meant to be instructional, broken down, so the viewers can be as blessed, as we are, to have such world class coaching.
