loving the podcast so far. I've listened to all of the episodes released. I gotta say though, it's a little dry sounding. you should add some sort of intro and outro sound(probably the same sound) and maybe some effects to mark when certain segments of the show that you consistently do are starting. Amazing content in the podcasts it's just hard to keep concentration with nothing but male voices to bring you in(much live but you and Joey are a bit monotone). we appreciate everything you guys do, and I figured you'd appreciate some constructive criticism.

Nice! Been playing a lot with arm triangles lately and am in the same boat with a strong side. I find a good mental note for me is I want my collar bone at his delt, if I'm up on his tricep I'm gonna be too high and need to readjust or squeeze harder. One of the two should work. 3:17 vs 9:12 I describe that motion of getting your choking arm deeper as a cork screw motion but I find that works better in the gi. I just cork screw my hand back and forth while framing on their temple. I've seen Gordan Ryan say to jack off your friend in no gi and he's way better then me. Final thing I've been playing with is keeping my eyes forward the entire time I'm attacking the choke. I try and look where the floor meets the wall. I find it let me use a more active chin to dig into their tricep/delt to maintain control and as I transition off to the choke it keeps my collar bone lower. You use your chin at 2:50 then look down which slightly raises your collar bone. Not trying to critique you, your grappling is amazing and a joy to watch. Just wanted to share something that has been a passion project for me the past several months and I'd love any feed back from you.
@JordanTeachesJiujitsu2 жыл бұрын
I think the problem with looking forward as opposed to down, is you may find it harder to keep your head underneath someone who is actively trying to turn into you, which Joey was doing a good job of in my left arm attempt. By having your head down you can get lower to avoid that more easily by getting your head as low as possible. This is also why I was too high on the left arm attempt. 1. because Joey was turning into me 2. lack of muscle memory in that arm.
@rockwell69422 жыл бұрын
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Thanks that makes sense, most of the folks at my gym try and use a high elbow escape which might be why it's working for me. Plus I don't have a lot of high level partners to try and vet stuff against. I do like to keep my choking arm hand under the scapula to help prevent the turn in as well. Thanks for the feed back! Gonna keep on working at it.

1. A BJJ black belt that does his jogging ? Wow. Why we never view other black belts jog ? How long and length do you jog. 2. 170 vs 190. Lot of BJJers make this distinction and I wonder why. If your game would have been centered about pressure passing ala Fabio Gurgel or Murilo Santana, yes that 20 lbs might do it, maybe. But I thing lot of people mistakenly translate wrong the weight advantage. I boxed 25 years. Believe me, I was 200 and sparring 160 or 180 never really made a difference as the 160 could muster up enough power to knock me down. But each time I sparred a 220 and heavier, I felt the weight transfert and the inside battles harder. In BJJ, if Ricco Rodriguez uses a heavy pressure passing system to face Marcelo, then we could say that huge weight gap, would have been a factor. But it was never the case. Marcelo nullified that gap, as does most upperbelts vs other lower to upperbelt in grappling. Strangely, a 200 vs a 220 who knows where to put his weight is goig to make the weight gap an important factor, as oppose to a 160 vs 180. Cant explain why.
