The colour grading and skintones on your client work is so so lovely. i also really love the 18mm for the s5ii - you can always aps-c crop it too so it's even more versatile 😁
@JoshCameron19 күн бұрын
Ahhh thank you! That means a lot! Every videographer is low-key self conscious about their grading so that's a big compliment 😂 Yes exactly! In the APS-C crop mode you get something like 27mm I believe, so that's super useful :)

@7:35 Josh, the screen version is very nice for that quick drone set up (which is not that much quicker) BUT it's quite big also. And me as a traveller and trying to keep the bag weight less as possible I would definitely go for the remote without screen. Nice video again! Thanks

Would appreciate a video of your travel lighting kit, tripod and case. I’m looking for a roller case that can fit a c-stand, as you showed in a recent ig story.
@JoshCameron18 күн бұрын
Hey Jonathan! Thanks for watching, yeah I'd love to do a full video rundown on my one case setup :) The C-stand doesn't fit in the case though unfortunately, I normally fold the legs up and put them inside the case, then the long part of the stand gets carried separately. A little bit annoying!

When I work I need to have lots of lenses, gimbal, audio, drones… so I need a small camera … for hobby I use a canon c300 mk1 ! So nice to shoot with and beautiful HD footage.
@JoshCameron19 күн бұрын
What do you use as your main work camera? That sounds great, I’ve never shot with any of the Canon Cine Cams before but they look really nice to use :)

@@JoshCameron GH7 for sports shoots, fast pace documentary work, and sports livestream / broadcasts. And the S5 II for slow pace shoots like corporate, interviews, or when I need low light or want shallow dof. I often find myself shooting with both for events : A lovely setup is GH7 with an ultrawide (like laowa 7.5 or leica 8-16) and the lumix 35-100 f2.8, and the S5 II with the 35mm 1.8 and 18mm 1.8. dji rs3 pro, smallrig plate on both cameras..

Awesome video, Josh. I've modeled my kit pretty close to yours at your recommendation. I have the lumix s5ii, sigma 28-70, rs3 mini gimbal so far. The only thing I have that you don't carry is the Sigma 70-200 because I like to take photos for sports/events. Thanks for the video, I watch them all.
@JoshCameron19 күн бұрын
Ah that’s great! I hope that setup is working for you as well as it does for me :) how are you finding the Sigma 70-200? I haven’t tested it yet but it looks great. Thank you for always tuning in, it means a lot!
@BrettyPOV18 күн бұрын
@ the kit is working out very well. I’m happy to be a part of the LUMIX ecosystem. I really like my sigma 70-200 telephoto. What I like most is that you can get candid photos of people on the street without getting in there bubble and alarming them, which is fun!

Thank you so much, as always, for the super professional and informative video! I’m looking for a wide lens to add to my kit, and I’m curious what it is about the 18mm that makes it your go-to wide angle lens. I’m trying to decide between the 18mm and Sigma’s 16-28mm
@JoshCameron19 күн бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad you found this video helpful :) I think both options are great (the sigma 16-28 and the 18mm). I lean towards the 18mm because it’s smaller and has a faster max aperture. I just find the 1.8 primes to be excellent for everything!
@BenjiSelby19 күн бұрын
I just started in the F38 system, and I love it! Defo need a few more mounts, but it is amazing. Do you bring a tripod with you when you travel or is the gimbal with you most times?
@JoshCameron19 күн бұрын
If I bring a tripod (and this is very very rare), it’ll be the lightweight Freewell travel tripod I reviewed a while back on my insta :) I don’t actually travel with my gimbal at all to be honest, unless it’s for a paid shoot. Otherwise I find the IBIS in the Lumix cameras to be more than good enough!

Hi Josh. I’ve got a question a little bit outside of what you talked about in this video. I saw that you used the Fujifilm X-T3 before the Panasonic S5. I now have an X-T3 and I’m thinking about changing it for the Panasonic. Would it be worth it?
@JoshCameron18 күн бұрын
100% It's worth it. I love fuji cameras, they're super fun and give a lovely look, but for work they're not as easy to use IMO. The Lumix cameras are better for work - the video functions are more developed and I just find the whole interface way better :)

Hi Josh! Absolutely love your content. I was wondering if you (mainly) still use MF or the new AF on the S5IIX? Also, can anyone with experience give advice on how to start a videography business in a western market (the Netherlands) as a 20yr old? I already have a very decent kit built around the og S5, with only lights and a shotgun mic missing. I have a handful of client work in another country, and tons of photos and videos coming from the hobby side of things. The issue is getting some momentum for me, like how am I going to find and convince my first ever customers, etc. Thanks!

hey, great video as usual! what's that power bank? looks very light and thin, at least compared to mine. also, is the 28-105 impossible to use on a gimbal or just not the best lens for that purpose? i'm looking for a one & done lens (for now) with my new s5ii and was looking at the 28-105, but i've been a bit worried that i'd have to get another standard zoom if I ever start using a gimbal, or at least might have to rent one if a shoot requires gimbal work. what would you recommend? Would the lighter Sigma 24-70 mark ii, or even the 28-70 be a better option? or the Lumix 24-70 despite it's weight? I shoot a lot at around 85-90mm so I was leaning towards the 28-105. would appreciate any advice, thank you!

Josh, how often do you think you use the 100mm vs the 85mm for your client work? Do you find the 100 limiting in some situations?
@JoshCameron19 күн бұрын
I’ll be honest, I use the 85mm maybe once a month. The 100mm gets used once a day… I just love it! I don’t find it limiting to be honest, I rarely shoot in extremely tight situations thankfully !

S9 or s5ii? S9 is cheaper in uk nowadays
@JoshCameron18 күн бұрын
If you're planning on using it as a workhorse, then the S5II, but if you want a smaller and lighter body that can do 85% of what the S5II can, then the S9 is awesome :)

I currently have an S1 and S5IIX Do you think grabbing an S9 for a good deal would be a better match for my S5IIX or do you think I’m ok with the S1 Ive used the S1 on mulitcam shoots and the pulsing focus bothers me haha
@JoshCameron19 күн бұрын
I think if you’re looking for an AF upgrade, then the S9 is a solid choice as a B Cam, especially now you don’t have any recording limits :)
