Jesus died for all people to reconcile us to God. Because of Adam and Eve's sin (Genesis 3), man became separated from God. Jesus' death on the cross, as the perfect sacrifice since He was without sin, removed the barrier between man and God. In Old Testament times, animal sacrifice was practiced, but that could not take away man's sin forever, but Jesus was the perfect sacrifice to permanently remove man's sin. Sad that you are unable to see the truth. Christ died for His sheep, the elect, no one else. Try reading your Bible without preconceived notions. Romans 9 could not be more clear. Of course it is taught throughout Scripture. What you believe is basically that Christ died for Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc, regardless of whether they rejected Christ or not. Your Arminianism is worse than most. Repent or perish. Basically you believe in Universalism and that is really pathetic.

Josh....Jesus said He laid His life down for the sheep. Jesus knows who He died for. He is the Good Shepherd. He did not lay His life down for the goats, swine, wolves. He is not the Good Zookeeper, He is the Good Shepherd. Why would people be punished in hell if Christ bore the wrath of God for them? Double punishment?

So Josh, did Jesus die for those who were already in Hades awaiting the Judgement? Can a sin already propitiated for by Christ be also charged again to the one it was propitiated for?Did God create people with infallible knowledge that they would sin,die and go to Hell,if so why?Do you believe the future was fixed once God created?Do you think Jesus only died to make salvation a possibility for every individual but actually no one in particular?Did not God know His elect before Creation?

The elect remitted their sin and so they were saved, the non-elect do not believe so their sin were not remitted: To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. (Acts 10:43 KJV)

Death is tragic when you stay dead. Not so tragic when you come alive after a couple of days.

I never have heard how Josh reconciles a young earth and the bible with science and Darwin. He's a smart guy why don't he address this?

The Lord Jesus Christ did not die for everyone's sins. He died for His people, only. Watch "For whom did Christ Die?" by Angus Stewart and another sermon with the same title by John MacArthur. Mostly, study your Bible.

He did not die for everyone. The Bible does not each that. Charles H. Spurgeon, called the prince of preachers, reminds us that at the time Paul wrote this epistle, there were some who “were even in hell when Christ, according to some men’s account, died to save them”. If Christ died to save all men, Christ’s atonement for sinners is a futile and gastly failure because many perish (see Matthew 7:13-14, 21-23). According to Isaiah 53: 10-11 Christ’s vicarious, substitutionary death at Calvary was a complete success; that is to say, for those it intended to save, it saves. When Christ died at Calvary His focus was clearly upon His seed--His sheep or chosen elect, given to Him by the Father in eternity past (see John 6:37, 44, 63, 65; ; John 17:2,6,9,11-12, 20, 24; Acts 13:48)--those [many] He would purchase [ransom) by His propitiatory death and bring to heaven at last. “Even as the Son of man came...to give His life a ransom for many (not all, Matthew 20:28). In Matthew 26:28 Christ said, “For this is my blood of the New Testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins”. Please note He did not say that He gave His life for everyone of Adam’s race--that he shed his blood to remove the sins of the whole world, but that He shed His blood for “many” Again, He states in John 10:11: “I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep” .Further, He states in John 10:27-28 that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him--that He gives eternal life and they shall never perish (clearly believers or His chosen elect, as opposed to those [goats] who do not believe: “But ye believe not because ye are not of my sheep” In short, one does become a sheep by believing; rather one believes because he/she already belongs to His chosen sheep.

Please watch the sermon "For Whom did Christ die?" by John MacArthur. It is packed with Scriptures on this. Get this wrong, and you are preaching another gospel. Also, read thew Gospel of John...Jesus laid His life down for the sheep. No goats, No wolves. "Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the CHURCH and gave Himself for IT."

I think you are going too far to said that if one get it ("For Whom did Christ die?") wrong, one cannot be saved. While I am not sure whether classical Arminianism who believed in "freed will" is the truth or the Calvinist's predestination, but certainly you are wrong in limited atonement! The atonement issue is really too simple to get it wrong, only those who followed men will get it wrong. "His people" in Matthew 1:21 is the nation of Israel and not the elect! Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. (Romans 5:18 KJV) You have to twist the second "all men" in order to say Christ died only for the elect, twisting scripture is dangerous to your own soul!

@stvoyager Christ died for everyone (I John 2:1,2 ) You see, God the Father requires a perfect blood sacrifice to pay for all of our sins. Since everyone is a guilty sinner,we can't offer a perfect blood sacrifice or suffer or do works to go to Heaven. So Jesus came and was the only person who never sinned ,so He was qualified to be the perfect sacrifice, so on the cross He bled ,suffered and died, IN OUR PLACE,as all our sins were laid on Him and so He paid our full sin price,Rom.CH 5

Yes, Jesus died for everyone (I John 2:1,2 ) but you have to believe to receive the payment,to be forgiven. Only when you repent and believe ( Mark 1:15 ) is Christ's payment credited to you and you are given His righteousness. Read Romans chapter 4.
